About the role:

The VP of Engineering is a strategic role that oversees all technical aspects of DoubleVerify’s Scibids solution. It is integral to the continuous innovation and development of our AI-driven products within programmatic buying environments. The role will manage engineering and data science teams in Paris and across the globe and will partner with engineering groups of the world’s largest platforms, including Google, Meta, Amazon, TikTok and others. 

Reporting to: SVP and founder of Scibids

Location: Paris, France

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Vision: Assume overall ownership and accountability for the development and quality of Scibids’ products. Provide strategic direction and leadership to multiple development teams spanning across several skillsets (data science, data engineering, software development).
  • Business Acumen: Work closely with Scibids business leaders, product management team and clients to identify how engineering can support new and existing business opportunities. 
  • Roadmap Alignment: Collaborate with the leadership to align the product roadmap with strategic goals and our Objectives and Key Results (OKR) processes.
  • Mathematical Leadership: Scibids AI excellence relies on a sound and rigorous mathematical treatment of the bid optimization problems. The VP of engineering needs to be able to guide the team and make sure this excellence is upheld as we scale.
  • Technical Excellence: Lead the team in taking key architectural design decisions, balancing technical debt against business priorities to ensure scalability, flexibility, and resilience.
  • Team Scaling: Conduct an aggressive scaling plan of the engineering team while maintaining an extremely high excellence bar and talent density.
  • Team Development: Train, lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of data scientists, engineers, and team leads. 
  • Efficient Management: Manage multiple competing priorities in a dynamic environment. Oversee project deliverables, resources, milestones, and development processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Ensure agility and efficiency in achieving both short-term and long-term goals.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in managing and leading data science / engineering teams
  • Over 7 years in technology-related roles
  • Strong technical expertise in cloud/SaaS platform development and management.
  • Broad knowledge of programming languages, software architecture, design, and database systems.
  • Proven track record of building and motivating high-performing engineering teams.
  • Experience in media measurement and online advertising is an advantage.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated decision-making abilities with sound logic.
  • Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with teams across the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
