About the Team
DoorDash is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager with an ML background to lead our Consumer Machine Learning team. This team is responsible for building end-to-end ML products and solutions to power the entire shopping journey while maximizing value for Consumers, Merchants and Doordash. The charter of the team includes homepage recommendation and ranking, search relevance and quality, intelligent notifications, shopping recommendations, etc.
About The Role
You will lead a team of strong ML engineers and managers making each customer's every interaction with DoorDash personalized. You will also be defining Doordash’s machine learning and AI strategy and lead our implementation

- Lead and grow a team of exceptional machine learning engineers and managers, building end-to-end ML products across homepage recommendation and ranking, search relevance and quality, intelligent notification, etc
- Leverage cutting edge LLM and Deep Learning (GNN, MTL, Transformers) to augment the DoorDash’s ML stack
- Work with cross functional partners to define consumer product, business and technology strategy and deliver immense impact
- Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, outside-of-the-box thinking and teamwork
- Build an outstanding team by coaching and empowering engineers and managers through delegation, and applying your technical expertise to hold your team to the highest engineering standards
- Scale the team by developing internal, and attracting top external talent
We're Excited About You Because You Have…
- B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or equivalent
- 10+ years of industry experience
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience
- Broad machine learning knowledge with strong ML modeling foundation
- Extensive experience in leading recommendation, ranking, search or equivalent ML teams building consumer-facing product
- Strong communication skills and the ability to partner with teams spanning many disciplines
- Ability to guide and grow an excellent engineering teams in a rapidly changing business environment

Compensation
The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.
In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.
