About the Team

The Consumer Strategy & Operations team’s mission is to sustainably accelerate Marketplace growth. Using a customer-obsessed approach, we own market strategy, consumer affordability, partnerships, new value propositions, and the Marketplace homepage.

About the Role

We are hiring an Associate Manager to support strategy development, and lead the implementation of strategic initiatives across pricing, promotions, partnerships and product merchandising - with a goal to drive increased consumer growth, value and affordability.

This role will report to the Head of Strategy & Operations, New Zealand. We expect this role to be hybrid with some time in-office and some time remote.

While there is no typical day for our Strategy and Operations roles, you will work on a variety of tasks such as: gathering and analyzing consumer data, translating your insights into a high-level vision and operational plan, and delivering the plan both by “do-ing” and leading cross-functional teams.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Join us on our mission to build NZ’s leading consumer marketplace.
  • Empower New Zealand communities with greater convenience and earning opportunities.
  • Help devise and lead the implementation of our consumer strategy in New Zealand, ultimately driving increased value for DoorDash and its stakeholders.
  • Optimize key revenue and cost items in our P&L, allowing for increased investment in business growth.
  • Work with and lead high performing cross functional teams that have a lot of fun working together.
  • Gain unparalleled learning and growth through innovative culture and business growth.

We’re excited about you because you have…

  • 4+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, operations, product, technology, banking, analytics or related experience.
  • Strong business acumen - you are able to identify the “so what” from data, interdependencies between teams, and translate them into an operational strategy
  • You operate at the lowest level of detail - you are a problem solver and a “do-er”, and you inspire your team through insight and action.
  • Exceptional cross-functional leadership - comfortable in a highly-visible role, you can collaborate and influence effectively and ‘set-the-pace’ for the rest of the team.
  • Proven analytical skills and can deliver actionable recommendations - excel skills are required and competency in SQL and dashboards is preferred.
