About the Team

The primary focus of this role is to lead DoorDash’s efforts to maintain optimal work environments that foster positive relationships and two-way communication between employees and leadership. Reporting to the Senior Manager, People Advocacy, the role will help serve as a critical resource to a wide variety of cross-functional teams who support DoorDash’s New Verticals and Customer Service teams.

About the Role

As the Manager, People Advocacy, you will partner with a team responsible for identifying and addressing issues impacting the employee experience of our customer-facing teammates.  You will also partner closely with business leaders, Employment Legal, HR Business Partners, Employee Relations, and other functions within the People Team to address identified opportunities.

  • Design, develop and execute both the strategic and tactical components of DoorDash’s employee advocacy strategy
  • Work with partners across the organization to drive positive employee relations
  • Develop and deploy communication channels to obtain employee feedback and implement action plans focused on addressing identified opportunities
  • Create and implement training focused on improving overall people leadership skills
  • Monitor Employee Relations trends, local and federal law changes, and rulings that have potential impact to DoorDash 
  • Inform leadership and people teams about the potential impacts on employee experience resulting from new initiatives, policies, and programs.
  • Develop/design/enhance organizational health strategy & toolkit 

What You Will Own

  • Case and Project Management
    • Research and response to employee relations matters both virtually and in person.  Assist HR Business Partners and ER Business Partners in resolving concerns.
    • Guidance to leaders to appropriately resolve concerns and mitigate employment risk.
  • Employee Advocacy, Training, Communication
    • Influence business decisions to balance employee and business impact
    • Train leadership on topics related to creating an optimal working relationship with employees
    • Assess working conditions, safety, employee experience and leadership effectiveness
    • Conduct on-site response to engagement and environmental concerns
    • Deliver site-specific action plans and follow up
  • Analytics
    • Along with the Senior Program Manager, analyze employee data to identify areas of focus 
    • Deliver standard and scheduled updates and reporting to Senior Leadership

We’re excited about you because…

  • You have at least 7 years of relevant experience, focused in employee relations, human resources or employment law
  • You have Bachelors and/ or Masters in Human Resources or Labor Relations
  • Mastery of employment law basics and performance management best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data and predictive analytics into action plans to prevent and mitigate unfavorable employee experience trends
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including a strong emotional intelligence (EQ), exceptional communication skills (both written and oral), and the capacity to establish trust and wield influence across all organizational levels
  • Experience diffusing tension and effectively mediating conflict
  • Presentation, training design and facilitation experience
  • Position will require travel as needed (up to 30%)
  • Prior experience supporting a call center / customer service center is a plus

Compensation

The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below.  Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.  For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location.  Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.
