About the Team

New Verticals (Retail) is a new and exciting team at DoorDash. We're building and scaling our next big businesses on the DoorDash Marketplace platform, focusing on markets outside of food (e.g., Pet Supplies, Beauty, and Electronics) and going beyond local, “on demand” deliveries. These new categories and fulfillment modalities create new challenges and opportunities to build something at DoorDash from the ground up. 

About the Role

You will report into the General Manager of Shipping on the Strategy & Operations team. Once our offices reopen, we expect this role to be hybrid with some time in a regional office and some time remote.

  • Analyze. Pair data analysis (SQL, Excel, Sigma), customer feedback, and external sources to uncover new opportunities to scale the business. 
  • Strategize. Develop strategies for serving our Customers and Merchants. 
  • Experiment. Transform strategies into operational experiments that create measurable insights. 
  • Go-to-Market. Implement insights and systems. You'll launch programs, get 1% better every day, and scale something completely new.
  • Lead and collaborate. You'll work with a team, including partners in marketing, product, and operations, to build this new offering for DoorDash

We’re excited about you because…

  • You have 4-6 years of startup operations and/or ecommerce operations experience; you’re a proven “operator” with a track record of successfully tackling complex problems that span both software and people (“bits and atoms”). 
  • You have an incredibly strong bias for action; you enjoy forming a hypothesis, hacking together an experiment, cleaning/organizing/analyzing data, and taking quick actions that advance the business as measured by KPIs.
  • You enjoy leveraging your operational expertise, crafting systems & processes that help scale businesses from 0 to 1 (and then from 1 to 100).
  • You exude a “high empathy, low ego, roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude; no job is too big or too small as long as your team wins.
  • You’re intellectually curious; you love having a wide scope but can still go deep, able to operate at the lowest level of detail when required.
  • You’re a swiss army knife who can bounce between internal operations meetings and external client meetings, then round out the afternoon by providing notes on a complex financial model.
