About the Role

DoorDash is seeking a leader to build a world-class People Operations Programs function which is a portfolio consisting of the HR Compliance, Global Mobility & Immigration and Contingent Workforce programs. This is a unique opportunity to drive significant impact by building the team, programs, policies, and processes that will support DoorDash in its rapid growth.

You will report to the Senior Director of People Operations and Technology in our People organization.

  • Lead the design and execution of DoorDash’s global strategy for global mobility and immigration, HR compliance and the contingent workforce. We are in the early days, and are looking for a leader who is excited about the opportunity to build from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to craft an employee-centric and locally compliant strategy that supports rapid business growth.
  • Build and lead a team to design, implement, and execute scalable programs, policies, and processes. Your team will work with key stakeholders such as Finance, Recruiting, HRBP, Legal, IT and business units to ensure that DoorDash’s approach supports the workforce and is compliant with legal, tax, and local employment regulations. 
  • Determine optimal vendor strategy and manage vendor relationships to achieve program objectives. You’ll determine which parts of our programs should be owned by vendors, and partner with vendors to ensure that our goals are achieved. 
  • Ensure high quality education and support is provided to employees and key stakeholders. Your team will be responsible for ensuring the company is educated about the portfolio of programs, and that employees, hiring managers and other key stakeholders receive incredible support.
  • Provide strategic global mobility and immigration expertise to HRBPs, recruiters, and business leaders. Your team will be a critical enabler of our business objectives, and you will work closely with leaders across the company to ensure that our global mobility programs enable rapid growth and expansion.
  • Build and execute on compliance roadmap.  You’ll manage all compliance related reporting including but not limited to: EEOC and I-9 reporting with appropriate external vendors and internal stakeholders.  You’ll monitor the effectiveness of HR SOX Controls and other HR audit controls designed to meet regulatory obligations, owning remediation plans, as required. Your team will establish compliance standards, anticipate emerging compliance trends, work to improve and tighten internal compliance controls and ensure our People Operations policies and processes comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Your team will drive awareness, education and clear roles and responsibilities for risk management and HR compliance across the People organization.

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 10+ years of experience focused on building, developing and scaling programs, globally, in the global mobility and immigration and/or HR compliance space with a global scope.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to operate and influence in a highly matrixed environment
  • You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves - you can easily flex from high level strategy to the lowest level of detail
  • You have a demonstrated track record of designing efficient, scalable processes
  • You have strong customer service and vendor management skills
  • You have a track record of strong people leadership
  • You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
