About the Role

We're looking for a customer-obsessed builder and experienced cross functional leader to help set the catalog strategy for our global grocery and convenience businesses.

You will partner with teams across DoorDash and beyond to build a world-class catalog system that works for all 3 sides of the marketplace : Merchants, Dashers and Customers. Your will help merchants to onboard quickly, customers to make informed buying decisions with rich merchandising, and Dashers to know exactly what to shop, and where. You will partner with product, engineering, merchant strategy & operations teams on the strategy and execution. You'll need to get comfortable creating a strategic vision and thinking at the 30,000 foot level while also rolling up the sleeves and getting to the lowest level of detail. You will report into a Director on our New Verticals team.

You will build and manage millions of SKUs across the DoorDash platform for international merchants.

What You'll Do

  • Lead. You will create systems and process frameworks to improve the speed, quality and onboarding time for new international merchants.You'll partner with local operators in DoorDash's newest international markets to develop processes to set-up their catalogs on the DoorDash platform
  • Build. You will manage a massive product catalog with perfect information (i.e.- pictures, description, name, taxonomy), high-quality scores and operational checks and controls.
  • Strategize. You will help develop the strategy for international convenience and grocery operations. You will work with international teams to create quarterly and annual plans that push our business forward and are aligned with our product capabilities. You will help these teams identify opportunities for enhancing our existing product offering and methods to improve delivery quality.
  • Collaborate. You will advocate internally for solutions to enhance our international user experience. Where a You'll advocate for resources with central partners to implement product or operations solutions. You'll work with teams like operations, product, finance, and quality to build new lines of business for DoorDash.
  • Analyze. You'll assess the operational and financial impacts of your decisions, and iterate based on data
  • Support. You will support international teams in getting their lines of business setup and scaled quickly.
  • Learn. You will be immersed in our US Convenience and Grocery operations. You will learn about our product and in-store operations, product roadmaps, and current and future capabilities.

About You

  • You solve problemsfrom first principles. You're excited to think in innovative ways, and you resist "this is how it's always been done" thinking.
  • You're equally comfortable operating at 10,000 feet and 1 foot. You don't hesitate to get in the weeds and operate at the lowest level of detail, but you're just as comfortable thinking long-term and inspiring a team.
  • You're a great storyteller. You can the strategic vision for leadership, pitch the product to merchants and CPGs, all while creating a positive team culture.
  • You're unafraid of ambiguity. Rapid change and learning is exciting to you, and you excel in ambiguous, startup environments
  • You're analytical. You let data win arguments, and you're comfortable pulling your own data in SQL or modeling in Excel (can write advanced macros and perform complex functions).
  • You're relentless. You do what it takes to win, no matter what.
  • You have 5+years of experience. You've succeeded in high-performing cultures (whether in tech, operations, strategy, consulting, banking, or a related experience), and you've led teams to achieve audacious goals.
  • You have 2+ years of team management experience. Building a team is something you are passionate about.

  • You have experience starting or scaling a successful startup.
  • You have experience in the grocery industry.
