DoorDash is looking for a Strategy Analyst to drive business decisions and strategic initiatives across our Outside Account Merchant Management team

The Outside Account Management team develops DoorDash partners to capture engagement, growth, and performance on our platform. We define success and build a plan to reach new heights, while accommodating the variable needs of our partners.

About the role

This role will support local teams by uncovering strategic insights in our data, packaging recommendations into compelling presentations, and building on internal tools and dashboards to grow and empower the organization. Under the direction of the Regional Strategy Manager, you will dive into both internal DoorDash and merchant data to uncover new business opportunities, investigate solutions for complex problems, and support the value of a DoorDash relationship. You will work cross-functionally between our sales, merchant, operations, product, and analytics team to strengthen the partnership between DoorDash and our SMB partners.

What you'll do

  •     Use SQL to explore DoorDash and merchant data and uncover strategic insights and recommendations that help our teams drive growth and strengthen partnerships.
  •     Conduct analysis and communicate data-driven insights in succinct presentations that showcase the results of past initiatives, diagnose issues in merchant performance, and propose the value of new endeavors.
  •     Maintain and evolve automated reporting capabilities and dashboards that drive strategic decision making across the Outside Account Management organization
  •     Develop and standardize analytic methodologies and operational metrics to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team
  •     Ensure data integrity by understanding and identifying opportunities to improve the back end data structure

  •     You are able to craft your data insights into narratives that are relatable, succinct, and impactful and present them to internal and external clients

  •     You are results-oriented, always evaluating whether our team's activities are achieving the desired, measurable impact
  •     You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with a diverse team and a variety of stakeholders
  •     You are curious and an owner, always looking for opportunities to learn and better your work product
  •     You are comfortable in a fast-paced, constantly changing team-oriented environment and able to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously


  •     BA/BS degree in quantitative or business fields, or equivalent work experience
  •     3+ years of work experience in data analytics, management consulting, or other quantitative role; high-growth or early-stage startup experience a plus
  •     Analytical mindset with demonstrated ability to work through complex, ambiguous problems using data
  •     Proven ability to achieve expert level in:
  •       Scripting languages and data analysis tools such as SQL
  •       Data analysis tools like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  •       Presentation software like Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides
  •       Data visualization platforms like Tableau, ChartiO or PowerBI
  •     Strong written/verbal communications and presentation skills
