About the Team

DoorDash is growing and scaling at an unprecedented rate, and we are hiring a Director of Global Benefits to help shape our future. DoorDash is looking for a leader for our Global Benefits team who will help us to grow from 5,000 to 10,000 employees. You will oversee the strategy and implementation of programs and policies that allow the People team to operate and provide an outstanding employee experience. This is a unique opportunity to create impact at DoorDash at an inflection point where our focus is on achieving global scale, enabling new lines of business, and serving new employee segments.

About the Role

The Director of Global Benefits manages the development of DoorDash's benefit and wellness programs, globally. As the Director of Global Benefits, you will provide leadership in scaling the health, wellness, leave and retirement benefits programs as DoorDash scales, and contribute to the strategic direction and alignment of all benefits and wellness programs within DoorDash's Total Rewards strategy. You will report to the Vice President of Total Rewards on our Total Rewards team in our People organization. You will manage the Benefits Team, hire additional team members, and partner with our Management Team, Leadership Team and People Team. We are considering candidates in any major US city provided they are open to travel post COVID-19. DoorDash employees are working remotely through at least December 31, 2021.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • You will develop our company-wide global benefits strategy and programs to support the changing needs of DoorDash employees, in alignment with DoorDash's Total Rewards philosophy.
  • You will be a sponsor and strategic partner for benefits at DoorDash by making data-driven decisions, applying your deep expertise and by keeping your finger on the pulse of industry best practices, benchmarks, and the latest benefits approaches.
  • You will oversee M&A due diligence, resource planning and integration activities for the benefits department.
  • You will work with internal partners and ensure compliance with global leave management, reporting and global, federal, state and local requirements such as ACA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, GDPR, and HIPAA.

  • You have a Bachelor's degree and at least 10+ years of experience focused on developing and scaling global programs.
  • You are an authentic, inspiring and hands-on leader who has previously led and managed a team with at least 2 direct reports.
  • You can translate vision into strategy. You have a track record for designing and managing benefits and wellness programs through policies, processes, and systems.
  • You can assess and manage benefits vendors, to develop strategic partnerships.
