Job Summary

The Manager of Business Operations will be responsible for supporting key strategic and operational initiatives, the first one being Project Parthenon, in support of Doma’s #1 2021 OKR. They will be excited to join the ‘title and escrow company of the future,’ furthering the mission to make the home closing process as frictionless as possible for homebuyers, real estate agents, and lenders. The business operations team performs a multitude of support, consulting and enablement functions for our Title and Escrow operations teams. This role will report to a Sr. Manager of Biz Ops and be expected to step in and lead multiple complex projects and programs across the organization and help build & develop a team of operations associates. This person will be excited and energized to frequently take on new challenges, learn new processes, and forge new cross-functional relationships. They will collaborate with their fellow Business Operations teammates and the wider Operations team to create an efficient, enjoyable work environment. They will provide invaluable operational expertise to the larger organization, including the Product, Application Support, Marketing, and Legal & Compliance teams. Once allowed, they will have moderate travel to Doma’s state of the art operations center in Irvine, CA and eventually, future operations centers across the country. This role can be based anywhere in the US, working remotely, and will report to a remote manager. This is a fully remote role, with travel as necessary to our Irvine office and potentially to North American Title divisions across the east and west coast (~20%).

Essential Duties

  • Lead and own complex projects and large scale programs 
  • Influence, develop, mentor junior team members 
  • Manage senior level relationships with internal business partners and customers 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with our broader Operations Team, Product, and Engineering teams to develop and deploy operational technological solutions to areas of inefficiency.  
  • Conduct research and provide structured, strategic recommendations by leveraging data and insights on how to optimize our centralized and field operations in a highly regulated industry.  
  • Create and manage communications between centralized operations and the field with the goal of improving transparency, driving excitement, announcing new feature launches, and gathering feedback for future improvement.  
  • Optimize training programs to ensure high quality output within quickly scaling operation, and make updates to lessonly as necessary 
  • Work with Irvine Director and Sr. Director of Business Operations to optimize day-to-day operations of the center including scheduling and attendance optimization, planning for all-hands meetings, and other management projects  
  • Work with Business Operations team to launch future operations centers and Doma’s ability to process more complex transactions  
  • Make an immediate impact on a national scale by solving complex, cross-functional problems and driving solutions through to implementation.  
  • Conduct research and provide structured, strategic recommendations by leveraging data and insights on how to optimize our centralized and field operations in a highly regulated industry.  
  • Create and manage communications between centralized operations and the field with the goal of improving transparency, driving excitement, announcing new feature launches, and gathering feedback for future improvement.  
  • Collaborate with our broader Operations Team, Product, and Engineering teams to develop and deploy operational technological solutions to areas of inefficiency.  
  • Optimize training programs to ensure high quality output within quickly scaling operation

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree, Business Administration
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Work experience: Consulting, Project Management, Process Improvement, Program Management 
  • Certifications:  PMP, Agile, Scrum
