What you'll do

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Patient Services domain, driving innovation and helping us become the leading digital, secure medical companion for patients. You will architect, develop, and optimize systems that enable scalable, secure, and seamless access to healthcare.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Architect and scale: Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of high-impact systems that can scale to support millions of users across Europe, while ensuring the platform remains maintainable for hundreds of developers.
  • Solve complex challenges: Leverage your expertise to provide scalable solutions to complex technical problems, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Mentor and collaborate: While hands-on coding will be part of your role, you’ll primarily focus on mentoring and guiding engineers across multiple teams, fostering their growth and technical development.
  • Risk management: Proactively identify and address risks related to scalability, security, and maintainability. Ensure that solutions align with best practices and future-proof the platform.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate daily with Software Engineers, Engineering Managers, SREs, Product Managers, and Security teams to ensure adherence to security, performance, and code quality standards.

Who you are

  • Have 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer and proven experience with system at scale
  • Have in-depth knowledge of software and system design
  • Have the ability to find and adapt to the most efficient technologies to solve issues 
  • Are eager to leverage your experience and skills to grow the whole Tech at Doctolib
  • Are eager to be hands on with Java and Ruby on Rails 
  • Are comfortable speaking English in your day by day with the team

Now, it would be fantastic if you:  

  • Have been involved in Architecture choices for high traffic web applications.
  • Are eager to be hands on with React
  • Have an experience in a hyper-growth environment
