Job Purpose:
The digital media sales manager provides strategic leadership and expertise in our digital product offering: web, display, video, social, content marketing, and advertising in powerhouse editions of a digital magazine and event focused publications.
The sales manager will be responsible for leading the sales team to discover and pursue new sales prospects, negotiating deals, while maintaining and growing business with existing customers.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Sales Management
  • Delivering on the overall sales revenues and key account management
  • Achieved quarterly revenue targets as assigned by the AVP.
  • Growth of Digital Sales through solution selling; deliver the highest level of sales and customer service to our clients by identifying their media business needs, gaps, and opportunities; understand where customers are in their journey to provide the right product at the right time
  • Track, understand, and be held accountable to various program metrics, such as number of meetings, number of deals closed, overall team production, and more; drive behaviours necessary to meet and exceed these targets
  • Manage the opportunity pipeline and forecast revenue accurately. Making sure it supports the revenue targets and a diversified sales revenue from the different revenue streams, digital, advertising, content creation, etc.
  • Analysis of leads and their effective distribution
  • Effectively uses sales tools such as Salesforce and Power BI for performance management and opportunities analysis
  • Provide continual input and assessments to management to drive incremental improvements in sales strategy and approach
  • Develop the strategic plan to grow sales amongst existing clients, new business and a diversified revenue stream.
  • Ensuring the execution of contracted deliverables for clients
  • Delivering personal sales revenues and key account management
People Management
• Develop knowledge of sales executive’s performance, effectiveness and proficiency through ongoing direct and indirect coaching methods
• Support sales team with quarterly action plans to ensure the goals achievement and continuous performance improvement
• Planning of resource requirements for the sales function, working with the AVP and HR
• Recruiting of all sales employees, including interviews & hiring, working with the AVP and HR
• Ensuring that the sales team has appropriate current and future talent in place and that comprehensive training, development, and succession plans are devised, working with the AVP and HR
• Develops individual and team capability
• Managing and motivating a high-performance sales team
• Supporting the team in managing clients, handling objections, brainstorming proposals to ensure they deliver on their targets
• Collaborating with other departments to ensure initiatives implemented
• Developing sales team’s incentive schemes to focus efforts on target attainment
• Conducting of bi-annual appraisal system and review career development of each member of the team
• Managing people through the internal processes e.g. return to works, appraisals etc.
Working with Marketing
Supporting the development of an aligned marketing strategy for lead generation as well as specialized marketing materials to demonstrate the value proposition of the product
Supporting database development in conjunction with marketing and database teams
Supporting the development of appropriate sales collaterals
Devising opportunistic marketing campaigns to drive additional performance, in conjunction with Marketing
Keeping the sales calendar up to date.
Working with Editorial
• Working as the main contact with editorial to ensure the delivery of client’s products.
• Supporting the development of new products based on feedback from existing and potential clients.
 
Qualifications and Experience:
• 2+ years of shown success in a digital media sales management function
• 4+ years working on a media sales position
• Excited and motivated by the fact that your measured performance will drive your compensation and career growth

• Have a proven track record of exceeding performance goals
• Goal-oriented and have accountability for your work
• Outstanding eye for business and able to use technology depth, breadth, signals, and data to understand opportunities to shape business growth initiatives
• Able to work with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities
• Able to utilize digital sales tools to track all pertinent account information and sales progress as well as forecast and prioritize to achieve quarterly quota goals
• Comfortable with developing, implementing, managing and executing through influence across a cross-functional set of senior stakeholders
• Adaptable in a rapidly changing environment
• A bonus would be having experience within the energy sector
