The Staff Accountant supports the CFO with accounting related functions including assisting with monthly reporting and account reconciliations, assisting with the preparation of various regulatory reporting (i.e. Call Report), accounts payable, and assisting with financial audits both external and internal.

What you are great at: (Responsibilities) 

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure of the Bank.  Assist when necessary with the establishment of new general ledger accounts;
  • Assist the CFO with directing the Bank’s accounting functions to include establishing and maintaining its accounting principles and practices;
  • Monitor accounts payable to ensure that invoices are accurately process and recorded appropriately;
  • Serve as a liaison and point of contact to other department leadership across the organization, assisting them with accounting related service issues;
  • Assist with the compliance of various regulatory reporting requirements for both the Bank and Holding Company;
  • Post journal entries and ensure daily and monthly account reconciliations and analyses are completed in a timely manner;
  • Assist with the month end closing process;
  • Assist with the required recordkeeping as it relates to the investment portfolio;
  • Assist with the preparation of external audits and audited financial statements;
  • Assist with any accounting related internal audits.
  • Maintain an excellent knowledge of the Board approved policies, procedures, and regulations including those defined by Federal Regulatory requirements.
