Our client has customers across the globe, and they provide B2B solutions for large events, in particular, sporting events. We can't name their customers but we bet you've heard of them.
Here's what your responsibilities will be:
- Oversee and maintain a multi-region cloud environment, focusing on:
- Backup and recovery procedures
- Performance optimization
- Server patching and updates
- Security issue resolution
- Ensure system performance and availability meet established SLAs
- Employ Infrastructure as Code tools for streamlined infrastructure management
- Address and resolve complex AWS and migration challenges
- Manage RDS instances, including optimization and monitoring
- Assist development teams with performance-related concerns
- Establish and maintain CloudWatch alerts
- Provide swift incident response, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventative solutions
- Foster collaboration between development and operations teams
This is the kind of experience we're looking for:
- Proven expertise in AWS DevOps, with focus on design, development, testing, deployment, and migration of critical applications
- Minimum 5 years hands-on AWS experience
- Proficiency with SQL Server
- Capability to implement AWS server scaling solutions
- In-depth knowledge of AWS services and tools, including:
- RDS and EC2 Management Consoles
- CloudWatch
- Various AWS storage solutions and RDS engine types
- S3, Load Balancing, Route 53
- GuardDuty and Security Hub
- Architecture design skills for complex client needs
- Strong communication abilities
- Open to providing team mentorship
- Proficiency with Terraform and PowerShell scripting
Other:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
- Availability to manage incidents over weekends, particularly on Sundays (it's a big sporting day, but incident occurrence is low)
- Able to work in US Mountain or Central Timezone
