Position Overview  

Diligent is looking for a talented Junior QA Engineer working on the development and maintenance of Diligent Entities product. This position is a key position to strengthen and speed up our automation efforts to shorten our feedback loops and to enable more frequent, on-demand releasability of our software. This position is an integrated part of a cross functional development team and will work closely with software engineers and QA Analysts in the team.  
  
Key Responsibilities  

  

  • Automated testing (using Robot Framework) of our existing test suites and new feature test suites  
  • Support manual functional, regression and cross-browser exploratory testing on an ad hoc basis  
  • Understands specifications and is able to draw up test scenarios and create regression test cases in gherkin format  
  • Responsibility for the test asset library and updates test cases as needed  
  • Follows best practices for test cases authored by them and for peer review  
  • Acknowledges code changes and the impact on the application so exploratory testing can be focused and effective in the identification of bugs  
  • Executes test cases and analyses test results.  Interrogating failed scenarios and accurately record defects following them through to resolution  
  • Static review of the work of others, documenting issues, and providing constructive feedback. This will include a review of user stories, system requirements, and functional test  
  • Ensure all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures to ensure information retention and re-use.  Ensure internal systems are kept up to date at all times with the latest activity  
  • Plan and control their own workflow to ensure all deadlines are met and manage their own tasks effectively  
  • Generates test approaches and provides test estimates for work to be completed.  
  • Attend Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, and Retrospective Meetings  
  • Involved in continuous improvement of processes by regularly making improvement recommendations at team retrospectives  
  • Daily use of JIRA including reviewing tickets, providing estimates for testing effort, and logging time spent  
  • Responsible for collating release-related testing statistics for their project team  

Required Experience/Skills  
  

  • Degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar discipline  
  • Strong working experience of QA, test concepts, best practice, and technology  
  • 2-3 years of automated testing experience in testing web applications  
  • Experience of working in an Agile development environment.  
  • Experience of test management tools (e.g. JIRA, Zephyr)  
  • Good communication and collaboration skills – able to explain and champion the principles of a quality deliverable  
  • Be passionate about delivering value to our customers  
  • Be an active participant in the procedural and social evolution of the QA team; look for opportunities to add value and bringing the project teams closer together  
  • Be able to think on your feet and handle the pressure of tight deadlines  

Preferred Experience/Skills   
  

  • ISQTB Foundation Certificate  
  • Programming experience in Python   
  • Experience with Robot Framework  
  • Experience of working in regulated markets  
  • Understanding of the “Shift Left” principle  
  • Inquisitive and curious mindset
