The section editor will lead a team of freelance and staff writers in the production and management of Commerce articles — including deals and entertainment coverage —with an emphasis on affiliate marketing and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Broad knowledge of the current tech landscape is a necessity. The section editor will help support Digital Trends’ expand our coverage and voice.
What You’ll Do:
Assign, write, edit, and publish evergreen articles across multiple tech sectors (computing, smart home, mobile, gaming, health and fitness, and more) with a focus on revenue.
Hire, train, and manage a pool of freelance writers with an eye and ear to quality, speed, and voice.
Manage the article process by ensuring excellent content is being delivered.
Work on content and revenue strategies, even as they may often shift.
Knowledge of SEO, affiliate marketing, data analyzation.
Represent Digital Trends within assigned area of expertise on television, radio and in print.
Provide constructive, forward-looking input to help shape Digital Trends’ editorial standards.
What We Require:
College degree in journalism or related field.
Excellent writing and editing skills; able to write in a style that is interesting to the core audience.
Remain flexible, shifting with industry trends
Excellent administrative skills
Experience working with web content management systems (WordPress preferred).
Comfortable working with HTML.
Comfortable analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities.
Broad knowledge of the current tech landscape is a necessity.
