Who We Are Looking For:

As a Content Specialist at Digital Trends you’ll be responsible for supporting editorial content by sourcing & editing imagery along with producing article layouts using WordPress. This position will also assist with landing page and microsite builds utilizing various CMS platforms. Additionally this individual will manage a wide variety of other assignments ranging from site maintenance tasks to producing visual materials.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate an understanding of successful page design and photographic composition. They’ll have previous experience working within WordPress or a comparable CMS. Candidates will also possess some basic knowledge of web languages (HTML5, CSS, Javascript) and have experience building web pages. 

As a Content Specialist you’ll be part of Portland’s in-house Creative department and will collaborate closely with content managers, editorial staff, and designers to ensure output meets deadlines and style guidelines.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Prioritize production of article layouts for features, reviews and evergreen content within the CMS.
  • Acquire or create, edit and optimize assets for content production.
  • Ensure content is produced in a timely fashion and meets deadlines.
  • Actively monitor featured imagery. Edit, create or replace featured images to ensure site rivers, social platforms and partner feeds are visually polished and contain brand friendly imagery.
  • Create and manage various site taxonomies including categories, topics and tags
  • Layout landing pages within the CMS that adhere to best practices set by SEO, Design and Editorial
  • Build microsites to design spec as needed utilizing Webflow content management system
  • Partner with Experience Designer to ensure site functionality is consistent with their vision
  • Manage and manipulate ready-made art assets across wide range of mediums
  • Follow color, image, and layout styles established by brand guidelines 
  • Assist with event coverage including image editing, polishing layouts and content promotion.
  • Offer feedback on areas of improvement regarding content styling, processes, and workflows

What We Required:

  • Must have experience in content creation.
  • College degree is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working within WordPress required.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite required.
  • Experience working within Webflow platform a plus
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, and Javascript a plus
  • Remain flexible to changes in assignments or situations.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Able to communicate and provide feedback effectively to others.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in an office environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
