Objective of the Role

Responsible for for leading and overseeing multiple engineering teams to deliver strategic, high-impact initiatives. This role involves setting the vision for technical excellence, fostering collaboration across departments, and driving the execution of the organization’s technology roadmap. As a senior leader, the role ensures that engineering practices align with business objectives while cultivating a culture of innovation, growth, and inclusion.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee, manage and guide multiple engineering teams, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals and delivering scalable, high-quality solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to define the technology roadmap, contributing to long-term planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with product, design, and business stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, ensure alignment, and drive the successful delivery of cross-functional projects.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to Engineering Managers, Leads, and teams, fostering professional development and promoting a high-performance culture.
  • Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies, enhancing team capabilities and organizational competitiveness.
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs across all teams, maintaining system reliability and optimizing performance.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks to ensure smooth execution of initiatives and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to enhance infrastructure scalability, resilience, and alignment with organizational needs.
  • Monitor performance, identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Advocate for secure development practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and implementing robust quality assurance processes.
  • Represent engineering in executive-level discussions, providing insights and recommendations that shape organizational priorities and goals.
  • Drive process improvements across teams, standardizing workflows and documentation practices to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Manage team capacity and resource allocation, balancing business demands with team workloads and maintaining a focus on sustainable growth.
  • Promote an autonomous work culture by encouraging self-management, accountability, and proactive problem-solving among team members.
  • Serve as a Spin Culture Ambassador to foster and maintain a positive, inclusive, and dynamic work environment that aligns with the company's values and culture.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • 14+ years of experience in software development, with 8+ years in leadership roles managing multiple teams and senior-level managers.
  • Advanced expertise in software development technologies, including .NET, Java, TypeScript, React, React Native, and Node.js.
  • Strong experience with microservices architecture, containerization, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale, cross-functional engineering projects with measurable business impact.
  • Deep understanding of secure development practices, compliance standards, and tools such as SAST, DAST, and MAST.
  • Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, with advanced knowledge of data architecture and optimization.
  • Extensive experience in Agile methodologies, backlog management, and driving effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, testing automation, and operational tooling to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions and align technical solutions with business strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineering leaders, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges and drive alignment across the organization.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment, ensuring team success and alignment with organizational values.
  • Strong adaptability to fast-paced and dynamic work environments.
  • Willingness to acquire knowledge in new technologies within Spin’s tech stack.
