The Sr. NetSecOps Engineer is a critical role responsible for securing and optimizing Digital@FEMSA's network infrastructure, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of digital assets. This position entails advanced management of network security operations, proactive threat detection, and risk mitigation. The Sr. NetSecOps Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and enforce network security standards and respond to complex security incidents in real-time. This individual will also play a key role in advancing automation and deploying cutting-edge technologies to bolster network defenses.
Some responsabilities.
- Network Security Management: Oversee the configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and other network security technologies.
- Threat Detection and Response: Implement and optimize threat detection mechanisms, ensuring rapid identification and containment of potential security breaches.
- Incident Management: Lead response efforts to network security incidents, performing root-cause analysis and implementing corrective measures to mitigate future risks.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments on network components, providing actionable remediation plans to minimize risks.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop automation scripts and tools to enhance the efficiency of network security monitoring, response, and recovery processes.
- Collaboration with IT & Security Teams: Work closely with IT, DevOps, and cybersecurity teams to integrate network security best practices into the company’s technology stack.
- Access Control Implementation: Manage and enforce network access control policies to protect against unauthorized access and ensure compliance with security policies.
- Network Architecture Security Review: Collaborate on the design and review of network architecture to ensure security requirements are met and data flow is protected.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in network security operations and propose enhancements to strengthen security posture.
- Security Compliance: Ensure network security practices align with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, ISO 27001).
- Firewall Management: Oversee firewall configurations and rule sets, monitoring for anomalies and optimizing for performance and security.
- Advanced Threat Intelligence: Leverage threat intelligence to anticipate and defend against emerging network security threats.
- Network Performance Optimization: Assess and optimize network performance metrics to ensure security measures do not hinder productivity.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of network security configurations, policies, incidents, and remediation actions.
- Mentorship & Training: Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development in network security.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP Security, GSEC) are a plus.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in network security operations, telecommunications, with a proven track record in managing large-scale network infrastructures.
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, load balancers, and advanced threat detection tools, also Palo Alto, AWS and Onpremises networking & Telecom expertise.
- Automation Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) to automate network security tasks and improve response times. Also knowing programing languages and software development are desirables.
- Incident Response Expertise: Demonstrated experience in handling complex network security incidents and leading root-cause analysis and remediation efforts.
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards, including PCI-DSS, GDPR, NIST, and ISO 27001.
- Threat Intelligence Acumen: Strong understanding of threat intelligence methodologies, with experience leveraging threat intel for proactive defense.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, capable of assessing network security risks and providing actionable mitigation strategies.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Advanced English Proficiency: Required to communicate effectively in a global environment.
