Implement and maintain data governance with Digital@FEMSA to ensure the adoption of a data-driven business culture and work approach. This will enable reliable, consistent, integral, accurate, and timely data, ensuring proper access for each of our internal and external customers in a secure manner, complying with necessary laws and regulations.

Responsabilities:

  • Serve as a liaison with multiple data and business teams/departments for issues related to the planning and analysis of deliverables and processes of projects associated with data governance.
  • Define the ownership and responsibility of critical data assets to ensure they are managed effectively and maintain integrity at all times.
  • Perform analysis and execute tasks independently that contribute to workflows focusing on a wide range of data initiatives, including data requirements, issue management, understanding data quality issues, lineage, data governance, and taxonomy.
  • Examine and evaluate the status of the assigned project and/or requirement, including the identification of risks, accesses, documentation, and potential issues that need to be escalated or changed, and propose solutions to project leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and guidelines related to the documentation of data dictionaries, data flows, involved applications, consumers, as well as ongoing actions for quality improvement, security, use, and data lifecycle.
  • Document and collaborate in the development of policies, procedures, and data standards for the data governance of Digital@FEMSA, collaborating with the SRE, Data Architecture, and Security teams to democratize data and implement a “Business Data-Driven” culture.
  • Implement all topics related to Data Governance, standards, policies, processes, etc., from definition to execution, establishing compliance metrics that help with the continuous improvement of Data Governance.
  • Maintain and implement practices and artifacts that allow for keeping the data dictionary, data glossary, data lineage, and metadata of the organization up to date.
  • Safeguard data documentation on policies, rules, and standards.
  • Support project problem-solving by offering solutions to complex issues and interpreting and advising on data governance policies, guidelines, or processes.
  • Optimize workflows and interactions that promote good communication between departments, eliminating data silos, encouraging data sharing so that ingestion and analysis are not done in isolation.
  • Supervise and comply with data security and protection guidelines to detect potential risks and ensure data usage complies with established regulations.
  • Standardize the data language from business areas to technical teams, creating definitions of business rules (which, although not fully matured here, could be key for the future).
  • Identify information sources/origin systems that produce critical business data in each of their verticals.
  • Identify personal data used/collected within the Digital@FEMSA data platform to ensure proper masking in development, quality, and production environments, as well as in all layers of the data platform.
  • Control data from ingestion to avoid risks in the various environments of the data platform, detect potential risks, and ensure data usage complies with established regulations, guaranteeing availability to the correct audiences.
  • Automate and implement controls in the various stages of the data lifecycle to allow planning of correction and improvement procedures to increase data quality.
  • Conduct access audits on data platform tools.
  • Ensure the implementation and operation of the metadata management tool according to the organization’s needs.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Master Data Management (Experience +3 years)

  • Knowledge of databases, terms, and methodology related to enabling and promoting the functionality, integrity, and fitness of data for its purpose. This includes knowledge of SQL and SQL scripting.
  • Strong communication skills/ability to persuade/influence others at all levels of the organization and the ability to foster lasting partnerships.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into critical data dependencies and requirements.
  • Ability to think beyond the current state (processes, roles, and tools) and work towards an optimized and unconstrained design.
