We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant and Financial Analyst to join our finance and administration team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Head of Finance and Revenue Accounting & Operations Lead, and perform global accounting transactions and financial/accounting analysis, establish finance processes, and financial reporting that supports the organization. You will play a pivotal role in evolving our accounting and finance practices as our global business continues to expand. Development Seed is uniquely set up with a distributed team of remote staff and satellite offices around the world.

About You:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to put into practice a wide range of accounting and finance practices.  You will oversee all expense-related activities at the organization; you will perform financial analysis and will be responsible for closing the books monthly, preparing account analysis, and producing financial statements.  You will perform a combination of structured and repetitive tasks.  You will contribute to better defining our processes and find solutions to accounting strategy and management challenges.

You have:

  • Specialized studies in accounting, finance, or related fields
  • 3+ years of intermediate to advanced level of knowledge and experience in accounting (required)
  • You know your way around a chart of accounts, with journal entries, and with financial statements and analyses; solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • DCAA and/or government accounting knowledge and experience is preferred
  • You have experience using financial and team collaboration/management software (ie Quickbooks, ERP’s, bank feeds, treasury management, G-Suite, GitHub, Slack, Hubspot, etc)

You ideally have experience:

  • With international accounting and consolidating books (preferred)
  • Implementing accounting systems (preferred)
  • Working in small fast moving teams and decentralized management structures  
  • Coordinating across multiple time zones

We are looking for a team member to perform:

  • Financial analysis and reporting - accounting with our Lisbon subsidiary including consolidation, financial analysis, monthly financial reports, and cash forecasting 
  • Expense support – hands-on management of accounts payable, bank feeds and reconciliations, merchant card activity, cost control and expense monitoring,
  • Policy and Process - perform accounting, finance, and operations policy and process updates and improvements.  Integral role in implementing a new accounting and time recording system.
  • Operational support – perform operational tasks in support of the team that may include travel oversight and financial proposal preparation.

 

The Team:

Our Finance & Administration team, a sub-team within the larger Operations Team, is composed of three team members of which you will be a part.  The larger Operations Team is made up of multi-disciplinary professionals who serve as the organization’s connective tissue. We work in a flat management style rooted in cross-collaboration and continuous communication to collaborate closely together and work hand-in-hand with our technical talent to grow a successful company. 

We work cross-collaboratively to drive strategic and operational initiatives that scale the business while ensuring our ever-evolving culture is grounded in our values. Ultimately, Operations is responsible for scaling the impact of our talented team so our partners across the globe have the tools and data they need to improve the planet.


Benefits: 

The pay range for this role is $90,000 to $125,000 commensurate with experience.
