Operations Technician

Desktop Metal is revolutionizing 3D printing of metal parts.  Our printer’s robust build processes create complex parts beautifully at a price attainable by any design and manufacturing team and can be used within an office environment.  We are looking to bring on board bright, motivated team members across wide spectrum of  disciplines.  Desktop Metal is seeking talented and self-motivated Operations Technicians to join our R&D team.  The ideal candidate will have experience supporting R&D Operations in early stages through process scale up.

The Operations Technician will be responsible for:

  • Opening is on either 1st or 2nd shift based on company needs
  • Supporting the overall day to day operations of the R&D Part Farm - Print, Debind, Sinter
  • Executing printed part requests for both internal and external customers
  • Using software tools to track part workflow and quality metrics
  • Minor machine maintenance on units to keep them operational 
  • Sustaining 5S standards in labs to maintain an efficient and organized operation

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in related technical field
  • Experience with various software tools for managing workflow
  • Demonstrated capability to contribute at a high level both individually and in teams
  • Ability to resolve issues in creative, efficient, and effective ways
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills

Preferred Experiences:

  • Additive manufacturing
  • 3D printing hands on experience
  • High temperature metal processing
  • Furnace operation and maintenance
  • Chemical handling
  • Process troubleshooting
  • 5S operations
