Desktop Metal is seeking a talented and self-motivated Process Engineer to join the binder jet print process team.
The Process Engineer is generally responsible for the following:
Understands at the expert level the operation of the printer and post-printing equipment.
Documents mechanical and firmware issues and communicates rapidly/thoroughly with external partners and internal teams.
Works closely with teams (mechanical, electrical, software, materials, etc.) to propose and implement solutions for issues.
Documents machine changes, materials changes, experimental runs and defects.
Performs process development experiment runs, including printing and post-processing.
Enables successful printing of customer benchmark prints.
Collects/creates documentation of processes.
Maintains the laboratory environment.
Ability to resolve complex issues in creative, efficient, and effective ways.
Able to provide the customer and company-wide perspective to detailed technical decisions.
Experience driving design decisions based on research and testing.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
