Desktop Metal continues to grow and expand its global footprint. As a result, we are seeking a global logistics professional with expertise in import/export compliance matters. The ideal candidate will have prior experience implementing process and managing the global logistics footprint for a company with a multi-product portfolio.
The Import / Export Compliance Specialist will be responsible for:
Working with the Product Compliance, Supply Chain, and 3PL teams to develop and maintain Desktop’s Export Compliance Management Program
Coordinating with internal teams to classify new products and services as part of the development process and ensuring export classifications are considered as part of the business development strategy.
Evaluating all new customs requirements to ensure import and export compliance.
Developing and maintaining relevant internal procedures and conducting training programs.
Liaison to employees and external partners to ensure procedures are followed and documentation is correct upon submission.
Maintaining export compliance records, reporting and submissions as required.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field with 7+ years of related Export/Import Trade Compliance experience
Able to plan, organize, and coordinate projects to achieve results independently
Strong level of knowledge in export EAR regulations
Working knowledge of the U.S. HTS codes, its General Notes and Rules of interpretation along with the U.S. Customs Rulings.
Ability to interpret, understand and provide guidance to staff on complex regulatory documents and compliance requirements
Strong understanding of Supply Chain operations - purchasing, inventory management, warehousing and logistics
Experience with trade compliance laws, regulations and operations in relevant industry
