Single Pass Jetting Trainer – Desktop Metal main office, Burlington, MA

Desktop Metal is revolutionizing 3D printing of metal parts. Our system’s robust build processes create complex parts beautifully at a price attainable by any design and manufacturing team and can be used within manufacturing and production environment. We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Customer Support Specialist to join our expanding team: Provide sales partners technical and on-site support for all Desktop Metal product lines. Ensure customer satisfaction, sales partner success, and knowledge.  Assist in the launch of new products. Ongoing troubleshooting and technical support, remote and on-site at sales partners. Provide R&D, Engineering, and Software teams feedback to continuously improve Desktop Metal Products.

The Single Pass Jetting Trainer will execute, iterate, and develop new training content and will play an instrumental role in development for the long-term success of Desktop Metal personnel, worldwide resellers, and customers.


  • Analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate training and associated course material
  • Work with the development teams to define requirements for training and instruction content
  • Develop new Installation, operation, maintenance and service courses and updates/modifies existing courses as needed
  • Develop content for both prototype and production systems
  • Ability to instruct for 8 hours/5 days a week with proper rest between sessions
  • Coordinates all aspects of preparing the training and hands-on center
  • Properly maintain the hands-on machines
  • Counsels and evaluates student performance for both written and practical troubleshooting exams
  • Track and report metrics pertaining to training
  • On-demand customer training on site
  • Up to 40% travel required
  • May require international travel
  • Other projects as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with 3D printing/ Additive Manufacturing
  • Experience developing technical training material and conducting technical training
  • Able to convey complex technical information effectively and succinctly in written and verbal form
  • Interpret, paraphrase, and rewrite engineering source data into a form suitable for the customer
  • A strong ability to coach, and teach groups and  individuals - either in a classroom or one on one setting
  • Ability to independently lead teams in a training environment and adapt your style in a rapidly changing environment
  • Experience with equipment demonstration and lab exercises
  • Experience with Siemens PLC  
  • Organized, detail-oriented and responsive
  • Ability to successfully collaborate with different teams
  • Highly proficient in MS Office and Google Docs
  • Excellent customer relation skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Qualified Instructor
  • BS in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with Powder Bed Fusion / Binder Jetting metal additive manufacturing
  • Able to organize and prioritize workload
  • Customer Success focused
  • Knowledge of German, Spanish, Mandarin or Japanese
