Role: 

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate individual to join our cross-functional product teams as an Agile Delivery Manager. We currently have two opportunities, one within our Sellers team and another in our new Ranking & Recommendations team. You'll be a key member in this development team, working in partnership with the Product Manager and Tech Lead to drive the team to success, which we define as their ability to sustainably meet ambitious goals and continuously improve. You’ll report into the Head of Delivery.

Team Overview:

Sellers Team: Our Sellers team look after the Seller experience, and everything that users need to run a thriving shop on Depop. Currently they are making it faster to list items and ensuring that sellers have all the information, tips and tricks they need to succeed.
Ranking & Recommendations Team: Our Ranking & Recommendations team owns and continuously optimises our ranking algorithm to best match our supply and our demand. They will also develop our recommendation services that will be leveraged by the Discovery, Engagement & CRM teams to surface personalised recommendations.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive planning, estimation and coordination of the team’s product roadmap and its execution
  • Implement, assess and continually improve the team’s Product Development workflow, artefacts and events.
  • Measure, report and take ownership of the team’s success in delivering software
  • Assess team engagement (general satisfaction and alignment with mission) implementing or escalating improvements when necessary
  • Provide challenge and input to product and technical decisions in order to drive the team to the best possible outcomes
  • Drive decision making in support of effective planning and execution
  • Coach the team in agile and lean methods, driving increased collaboration, appropriate communication and continuous improvement efforts
  • Act as a servant-leader, prioritising support for the team’s success ahead of individual needs


Progression in the role will involve accountability for the holistic success of wider areas of the Engineering department including areas such as communication, hiring, professional development, on-boarding and team structures.

 

Requirements:
Must have:

  • A primary desire to achieve tangible results with a team and accept accountability for their success
  • The desire and ability to understand and explain technical concepts at an abstract level
  • The desire to improve as an individual, for the benefit of your team.
  • A passion for agile and lean software development. You’ll be able to prove a broad knowledge of agile methods and techniques as well as a constant desire to improve your own understanding. You’ll need a solid foundation in agile and lean principles.
  • Experience working as a full-time Scrum Master, Agile Coach or similar role.
  • Experience in identifying and effectively implementing continuous improvement efforts
  • Excellent skills in facilitation, coaching and mediation. You’ll have a natural talent for working with others and acting as a servant-leader.
  • Ability to coach teams on the deeper principles behind the Agile principles and facilitate actual changes in outlook and behaviours
  • A willingness to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new, e.g. writing a Python script to capture data on something you think might be a valuable metric


We'd love you to have:

  • Experience working in a mobile first environment or a startup environment
  • Scrum, Kanban or similar certifications
