What You’ll Do
Plan tutoring sessions and provide small-group and individual, high-dosage tutoring to students in upper elementary and middle school during the school day and after school.
Support student academic success in the classroom by partnering with teachers and school staff to facilitate differentiated learning activities.
Alongside your coach and lead teacher, analyze data and respond to help students achieve success.
Collaborate with your coach and lead teacher to plan for and execute scholar support.
Record time spent with students providing small group and one-to-one tutoring in our data management system.
Support a positive classroom environment by reinforcing the teacher's classroom routines and expectations and encouraging on-task student engagement.
When required, act as a substitute teacher by fully covering all aspects of a lead teacher’s class on day(s) they are absent. This includes but is not limited to: implementing lesson plans, delivering lesson presentations, and grading daily assignments.
Engage in whole-school events and tasks, including transitions, family conferences, tutoring, and other activities/duties as needed and assigned by school leadership.
Salary is daily, with a range of $60-$70, depending on your degree status. Work schedule is three days a week, with a consistent schedule that will not include Fridays. There may be potential to work some Saturdays at Saturday Academy.
This is an ESSER funded role through the CARES ACT specifically added solely for the next three school years to support scholars and mitigate the effects of the crippling pandemic. This role is funded through the 2023-2024 school year and has a current end date of June 30, 2024. There may be opportunities to apply for other positions within the Democracy Prep network for 2024-2025 school year as available
