A graduate of a Bachelor’s degree program (required), with 2 years of teaching experience and state certification (preferred).
What You’ll Do
Cultivate the social-emotional well-being of all scholars by building a positive virtual classroom culture that employs high expectations, high support, and leverages strong partnerships with scholars, their families, and the school's scholar support team.
Develop and maintain positive, strong virtual classroom culture.
Plan and prepare for effective implementation of a coherent, research-based music curriculum for both asynchronous (pre-posted) and synchronous (live) online lessons.
Evaluate musical achievement through regular analysis of student performance and maintain up-to-date attendance and grading records for all participants.
Maintain strong relationships with scholars, families, and colleagues through effective and frequent communication.
Schedule
This position is 10 hours per week and is fully remote.
Synchronous lessons will be taught on Wednesdays from 10:30AM - 12:30PM. You must be available to be online during this time.
The rest of your lessons will be asynchronous and will need to be posted to Google Classroom twice a week, but the remainder of your ten hours of work for planning, posting, and grading can be flexible.
Scholars & families may reach out for academic support or questions related to assignments or grades and you will be expected to be responsive (e.g. responding within 24 hours of any communication).
Target Start Date is 11/30 and the position will run through mid-May.
Compensation
Pay is hourly and commensurate with your experience.
