The Global Data Protection team is responsible and accountable for designing and maintaining Deliveroo’s global privacy program and compliance framework. Privacy Operations sits within the heart of the Data Protection Team and leads both privacy process innovation and transformation throughout a world of complex and ever-changing privacy demands. This role therefore allows the successful candidate to work with some of the most talented and enthusiastic technical and privacy professionals in the industry, who have been nominated previously for the ‘best privacy team’ in recent awards. You will report directly to the Global DPO, sit within the privacy operations pillar in the Data Protection team, and have a global reach.

Please note, this is a hybrid position that will require you to work from London HQ (Cannon Street) for a minimum of 3 days a week. 

What you'll be do:

  • Support with the delivery and execution of the team’s transformational, operational and strategic goals
  • Support the preparation of technical requirements to enhance or build new privacy solutions
  • Assist with the implementation, testing, training of users and evolutions of and day-to-day management of processes on privacy tools, such as OneTrust
  • Build and maintain relationships and trust with in-house teams, enabling effective communication and working practices between Privacy and Tech engineers
  • Support larger privacy programme initiatives, such as migrating and enhancing automation of ROPAs and individual rights requests within OneTrust
  • Lead on data protection reporting, innovating to make it more accurate, timely and presentable to be shared with leadership, including building dashboards
  • Assist on both proactive and reactive operational challenges and privacy compliance remediation, as part of a collaborative team
  • Research privacy operations topics and trends and communicating findings with the team, challenging existing processes and surfacing practical ideas for innovation
  • Assist with the discovery and interrogation of personal data within Deliveroo’s systems to support privacy compliance processes such as DSARs
  • Support in the design and build of operational solutions to specific market requirements for privacy related processes 
  • Help the team ensure that privacy processes are aligned and embedded within existing business processes

What we're looking for:

The successful applicant will be a self-starter and team player who is focussed on supporting the team to successfully deliver privacy ops projects. We are specifically looking for: 

  • Demonstrable organisational and time management skills 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and great interpersonal skills 
  • Team-focused and highly collaborative 
  • Highly motivated with a willingness to get things done and get stuck in 
  • Results-driven and pays close attention to detail 
  • Curiosity with a strong drive to learn 
  • Prior knowledge of DPA, GDPR, especially in relation to ROPAs and individual rights requests is highly desirable 
  • Demonstrate respect and integrity in working with others at all levels of the business
  • Ability to pivot quickly to changing business and regulatory requirements in a fast paced environment 

Experience required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university, preferably in a data, technical or legal topic 
  • (Strongly preferred) Experience working in a technical or privacy team, ideal candidates will have both 
  • (Desirable) Experience processing or supporting responses to individual rights requests (DSARs and erasures)
  • (Desirable) Experience working with and implementing OneTrust 
  • (Desirable) Working knowledge of SQL for data querying and understanding of relational databases
  • (Desirable) Experience working in a Tech company 
  • (Desirable) International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) CIPP/E, CIPM, and/or CIPT certifications
