When you first think about Deliveroo, you probably think of getting great food to your house in less than half an hour.  Awesome right? But behind the scenes is the real story. This story is one of high growth, huge challenges, and an enormous opportunity ahead of us. It began with our founder Will, arriving in London over 8 years ago and finding it almost impossible to order great food, despite the wealth of incredible restaurants in the city.  Fast forward 8 years and we operate in 12 countries with over 50,000 riders who deliver orders from 50,000 restaurants in over 200 cities worldwide.

The job 

  • Own Grocery Country P&L and challenge top lines and cost base to ensure profitability
  • Own or coordinate all levers to develop and scale our Grocery business in France: Sales, Account Management, Store Operations, Marketing 
  • Deliver outstanding hands-on tracking and delivery of the Grocery plan 
  • Lead the Grocery commercial strategy in France and be the central point of contact for all France interactions: Core team, HQ team, and Key Groceries partners 
  • Plan and manage in a sustainable way the growth by defining and monitoring the signing strategy with the best partners and rolling out the best retailers and specialists stores. 
  • Structure and develop the Grocery business in “verticals”, ensure we have the right Grocery mix in each region to delight our customers in line with our Grocery missions and moments
  • Structure, analyze, and scale our store operations to deliver the best service to our clients and the best experience to our partners ensuring the adoption of a robust process in their operations
  • Partner with  our Product team to include test and roll out client and partner-centric features in/from our tech roadmap
  • Work in close collaboration with the local PR team and HQ to ensure the best coverage of Grocery initiatives  in France 
  • Scale our Grocery process (e.g. launch plan, sales, marketing plan, expansion/selection review,) scale our Grocery team and work closely with Marketing, Rider Ops, and Communication team to ensure grocery partners success
  • Develop the Grocery team to handle exponential growth, attract and retain talents

 

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience
  • Extensive experience in the grocery industry or in Tier 1 consulting firm working on grocery problematics
  • Strong knowledge of marketplace businesses/ experience in a high-growth business environment or start-up.
  • Entrepreneurship way of thinking and way of working.
  • Meaningful & successful management experience (ideally 5 years + of managerial experience with proven track record).
  • Strong track record of hitting targets and exceeding business expectations
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, analytics
  • Excellent project management skills, able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Fluent English
  • Flexible to travel from time to time
  • Confident to operate in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment and handle multiple priorities
  • Looking for a can-do attitude and a strong appetite for challenge and people developer
