You will be joining the localisation team as a Senior Localisation Manager for our Restaurants product group. Localisation plays a vital part at Deliveroo: we are responsible for making our product application relevant to our users in our non-English speaking markets. Localisation is part of the Experience team, working alongside our Product Designers, Content Designers and Researchers to localise our app in 8 languages. You will also work with multiple teams across the business to support the localisation of our marketing materials.

What you'll be doing:

Project Management

  • Own the entire life-cycle of multiple localisation projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage all the project phases and efficiently predict the lifespan of all the stages of the project.
  • Working with Product and Content teams to localise the app and website.
  • Conduct an audit of existing localisation & internationalisation efforts on websites & apps containing short-term and long-term opportunities.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and optimising localised content.
  • Work with the Product Design and Content team to create guidelines and best practices for designing multi-language user experiences.
  • Optimise the existing translations for the marketing website & app.
  • Analyze and identify technical updates required to translate content successfully on existing channels.
  • Define internationalisation best practices and support engineers with implementation.

Leadership

  • Develop, manage and maintain relationships with the Experience team, and guide them through localisation and local market cultural challenges.
  • Develop, manage and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the business – in particular Marketing, Product, Operations and Sales.
  • Educate key stakeholders and the overall business on importance of localisation, key challenges and ways to collaborate; define localisation best practices and assure adherence.
  • Communicate with localisation specialists, language leads and local teams to ensure effective cross-team collaboration.

Team culture

  • Review and improve existing localisation processes and workflows to reduce effort and friction for stakeholders.
  • Play an active role in building the localisation discipline throughout Deliveroo.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience working with a multidisciplinary team to localise outstanding content across a variety of platforms, apps and products (this role won’t be suitable if your experience is mainly marketing/comms focused)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills (if you speak another language especially Arabic, Chinese, Italian, Dutch that’s great).
  • Ability to independently research and then confidently make recommendations based on findings.
  • An excellent understanding of localisation and cultural differences.
  • Able to confidently manage and drive multiple projects to success.
  • Experience with TMS (e.g. Memsource, Phrase, Transifex…).
