The Role

The role of the Restaurant Strategy team is to set the vision for the restaurant side of the Deliveroo marketplace and position Deliveroo as the strategic partner of choice for our restaurant merchants. We are looking for a Head of Restaurants Value-Add Partnerships who will have responsibility for developing and leading our strategic partnerships to drive growth & enhance the value we deliver to restaurants globally.

Your remit will be wide ranging from identifying, negotiating and driving operational management of strategic global partnerships across the restaurant ecosystem including POS, commerce solutions, financial services, and data providers that enable us to acquire faster or engage more deeply with our restaurant merchants. This is a foundational new role with an ability to shape our longer term strategy around how partnerships can unlock value added solutions for our restaurant partners globally, and requires an ability to work with ambiguity in a matrix environment influencing internally as well as externally

 

What you’ll be doing

  1. Define the vision around how Deliveroo can partner with participants in the ecosystem of restaurant related services 
  2. Own the overall relationships with key partnerships, defining the KPIs for success, areas of improvement and joint marketing 
  3. Lead deal making activity for Deliveroo by striking strategic partnerships to support our growth and product expansion across
    1. Grow restaurant acquisition by integrating Deliveroo’s offerings into 3rd party restaurant technology providers or identifying other channel partnership opportunities
    2. Enhance the Deliveroo’s value proposition to restaurant merchants by sourcing B2B partnerships to integrate into our overall solutions 
    3. Manage the end to end negotiations, including define the commercial terms & work with legal, risk and finance to set up the right partnership structures
  4. Oversee new partnership launch programs and projects including 
    1. Work with Product teams to on-board and prioritize new partnerships requiring integrations
    2. Work with Product, B2B Marketing, and commercial teams to drive the go-to-market for new partnerships
    3. Develop a Partner Program to allow us to acquire and engage partners at scale
  5. Work closely with consumer, procurement, packaging, FMCG teams to develop joint opportunities to benefit Deliveroo & Restaurant merchants
  6. Work with Product Management to input to technical roadmap definition and prioritisation to build a scalable platform to enable global partnerships 
  7. Support our overall ESG strategy with restaurant facing solutions and partnerships

 

Requirements

  • Significant experience in Business Development / Partnerships teams driving B2B2C / B2B opportunities and exceeding targets. 
  • Solid track record of building strong partnerships from identifying, scoping and managing cross-functional initiatives in rapid scale  
  • Strong analytical skills - able to join quantitative and qualitative data & synthesize these into outcome led insights.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, strong organizational skills including the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and working across all levels of an organization
  • A deeply curious and avid growth mindset, constantly looking for ways to improve and creatively solve problems - both the big strategic things, as well as the smaller quick wins

Preferred, but not required:

  • Familiarity with restaurants and / or marketplaces a plus
