When you first think about Deliveroo, you probably think of getting great food to your house in less than half an hour.  Awesome right? But behind the scenes is the real story. This story is one of high growth, huge challenges and an enormous opportunity ahead of us. The Role

We’re looking for a Restaurant Website Designer to join our expanding Restaurant Marketing team. As the scale and complexity of Deliveroo grows, we’re looking for someone who’s passionate, tech savvy and has an opinion about what makes great digital content. 

In this web design role you’ll code and design pages for Deliveroo’s Restaurants site. Using web development (HTML, CSS, React) and design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator) hand in hand - the site content you create will have a global reach and will be critical to growing international Restaurant partner sign ups. 

You’ll be a key part of our team, shaping the (‘Rx.com’) website look and feel and working into senior engineers to ensure that everything works properly within our CMS (Prismic). Working closely with our Content marketing and CRM teams you’ll be responsible for the maintenance of existing site content. Working closely with the Content marketing manager you will concept, create and (working into Engineering team) help to QA new on and off site content. All development should be mobile-first, and responsive across iOs and Android. 

Your experience of design, as well as building and testing website content makes you a unique and important addition to the team. Knowledge of SEO and conversion optimisation is also highly desirable for this role. 

You will be reporting to the Global Head of SMB Marketing, with very close links and support from the Product Engineering team. 

 

Specific priorities within the role

Your duties as a web designer will include:

  • Presentation of design concepts
  • Our team’s current web build backlog
  • Drawing up detailed website specifications
  • Editing existing content, debugging code and re-designing web pages
  • Testing web content both pre- (staging) and post-production (live) states
  • Working with engineering teams including frontend and backend engineers
  • Designing and proposing UX skeleton screens, including text size and colour
  • Creating web content using a variety of technologies - HTML / CSS / JavaScript
  • Working with different content management systems (Prismic CMS, Pardot CRM)
  • Continual professional development to keep up to date with new software developments
  • Web build production plans, balancing business needs and different internal stakeholders
  • Working with supplied assets (photography and graphic), graphic design, basic animation (GIF)
  • Meeting relevant legal requirements for accessibility standards, awareness of global privacy regulation
  • Designing imagery and ensuring it's in line with company branding policy or the requirements of the client
  • Working closing with Content Marketing manager ensuring content is aligned with the briefed requirements and overall strategy

Technical Experience

  • Coding - HTML, CSS, Javascript, React
  • Design - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or similar 
  • CMS experience is non-negotiable, CRM experience is highly desirable 

Overall Experience

  • 3-5 years of web design experience
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce preferable
  • Working knowledge of client side metrics and event tracking (Google Analytics or similar tools)
  • Comfortable communicating to a wide range of international audiences
  • UX experience, direct response website (B2C or B2B) experience is preferred
  • Agency experience is desirable, as is comfort with a fast-paced environment and quick turnaround times
  • Experience delivering end to end web builds, blog content - all other digital content experience will be considered
