When you first think about Deliveroo, you probably think of getting great food to your house in less than half an hour.  Awesome right? But behind the scenes is the real story. This story is one of high growth, huge challenges and an enormous opportunity ahead of us. It began with our founder Will, arriving in London over 5 years ago and finding it almost impossible to order great food, despite the wealth of incredible restaurants in the city.  Fast forward 5 years and we operate in 13 countries with over 50,000 riders who deliver orders from 50,000 restaurants in over 200 cities worldwide.

We work with riders, restaurants and consumers. We operate one of the most complex three sided marketplaces in the world and we do this in real time. Millions of customers and thousands of restaurants and riders rely on us to match them within milliseconds. The algorithms behind that marketplace are the secret sauce that allow us to deliver our orders in under 30 minutes.

The scale of the opportunity ahead of us is immense. The global food market is valued at £7.7 trillion but only 1% of it is currently online. The Role

​The Commercial Strategy Manager will be part of the Deliveroo French Commercial team and will report directly to the Commercial Director. The primary role of the Commercial Strategy Manager is to look after the medium-to-long term commercial projects, strategically implement them within the commercial team while challenging the status-quo, driving innovation forward. 



The responsibilities will include:

  • Working on the planning of different elements of the commercial strategy - acting as our commercial strategy consultant
  • Produce quantitative and qualitative data analyses and deep-dives to support the commercial strategy and commercial teams’ performance, and participate in the constant optimisation of our commercial activity
  • Creation, roll out & ownership of processes and tools to improve commercial efficiency, and being the point of contact for the use of those processes and tools (including Salesforce and Deliveroo platform)
  • Collaborating with Heads of commercial departments on quarterly commercial KPI setting
  • Motivate the teams and each employee individually to achieve the commercial objectives
  • Producing analytical types of reports for management review
  • Being the link between HQ and the local teams regarding the commercial strategy, which involves strong exposure on new projects initiation and new product developments
  • Collaborating with the local ops, marketing teams & tier managers to support ongoing initiatives



The ideal candidate is highly analytical, with a strong set of organizational and communication skills. You should be able to diagnose areas of optimization and demonstrate hypothesis-driven problem-solving abilities. This role also demands an entrepreneurial individual with experience of working on projects with multiple stakeholders and to tight deadlines.

  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain a high level of accuracy in performing all essential duties
  • Can demonstrate strong analytical skills and confidence with numbers
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence local market stakeholders
  • Strong track-record of hitting and exceeding business expectations
  • Experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Proficient in Excel, Google software and ideally Salesforce
  • Previous work with commercial teams 
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Interested in food, restaurants and tech start-ups
