When you first think about Deliveroo, you probably think of getting great food to your house in less than half an hour.  Awesome right? But behind the scenes is the real story. This story is one of high growth, huge challenges and an enormous opportunity ahead of us. It began with our founder Will, arriving in London over 5 years ago and finding it almost impossible to order great food, despite the wealth of incredible restaurants in the city.  Fast forward 5 years and we operate in 13 countries with over 50,000 riders who deliver orders from 50,000 restaurants in over 200 cities worldwide.

We work with riders, restaurants and consumers. We operate one of the most complex three sided marketplaces in the world and we do this in real time. Millions of customers and thousands of restaurants and riders rely on us to match them within milliseconds. The algorithms behind that marketplace are the secret sauce that allow us to deliver our orders in under 30 minutes.

The scale of the opportunity ahead of us is immense. The global food market is valued at £7.7 trillion but only 1% of it is currently online. The Role

 

The role will be within the Partner Services Team, who is responsible for setting the strategy and driving performance, of restaurant related services. As the Global Project Lead, you will be expected to challenge the status quo and always want to enhance the manner in which we operate. You will drive end to end change, to deliver impact, focusing on improving user experience for both restaurants and internal teams.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Work with central and local teams to identify and evaluate opportunities to drive performance

  • Once an opportunity has been identified, operating in somewhat of a business analyst capacity, gathering requirements and documenting pain-points 

  • Work closely with Tech and Product teams on roadmap prioritisation and feature definition, creating business cases where applicable to support the business initiative

  • Interact with stakeholders from Legal, Commercial, Product and the markets to deliver end to end change

  • Provide training on new tools / products / processes, before working with the applicable stakeholders to deploy and implement the deliverable(s)

  • Analyse, agreed, key metrics following delivery to evaluate how and what needs to be iterated in following versions of the deliverable(s)

  • Engage with third party vendors to integrate products and processes with our current systems

 

Requirements

  • Adaptable -  energised by working in a fast-paced environment characterised by constant change

  • A coach and manager who genuinely cares – able to lead a team and invest in their development

  • Analytical and data oriented - identify opportunities, issues and inefficiencies through data analysis

  • Dynamic delivery capability - create and deliver both ‘hacky’ / tactical and ‘gold-plated’ / strategic solutions

  • Strategic, yet pragmatic – able to ‘think big’, yet also be pragmatic to ensure changes are ambitious but achievable

  • Strong communicator - has great interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly gain the trust and respect of others and secure their buy-in/sign-off

  • Project Management & Prioritisation – manage multiple projects in a logical, structured and disciplined way, ensuring resources are allocated effectively

  • Time management - effectively plan and deliver multiple projects within the allotted time scales

 

Application Expectations

  • Experience in project management

  • Proficient in Excel and data analysis, with the ability to build models to support project approval and prioritisation

  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience

  • Business Analysis skills (preferred)

  • Adept knowledge of Salesforce and Looker (nice to have)
