When you first think about Deliveroo, you probably think of getting great food to your house in less than half an hour.  Awesome right? But behind the scenes is the real story. This story is one of high growth, huge challenges and an enormous opportunity ahead of us. It began with our founder Will, arriving in London over 5 years ago and finding it almost impossible to order great food, despite the wealth of incredible restaurants in the city.  Fast forward 5 years and we operate in 13 countries with over 50,000 riders who deliver orders from 50,000 restaurants in over 200 cities worldwide.

We work with riders, restaurants and consumers. We operate one of the most complex three sided marketplaces in the world and we do this in real time. Millions of customers and thousands of restaurants and riders rely on us to match them within milliseconds. The algorithms behind that marketplace are the secret sauce that allow us to deliver our orders in under 30 minutes.

The scale of the opportunity ahead of us is immense. The global food market is valued at £7.7 trillion but only 1% of it is currently online. The Role

  • Full accountability for the health, impact and efficiency of all Display & Online Video channels with a multi-million-pound budget.
  • Day-to-day leadership and management (inc. line management) of the lifecycle team (focusing on always-on, automated, performance managed campaigns) and bespoke team (focused on one-off high impact campaigns to achieve local market strategic objectives).
  • Responsible for developing, selling and executing against a long term strategy for Display & Online Video at Deliveroo. This includes (but is not limited to) collaborating with marketing technology teams, local and central marketing teams, engineering, data science, business intelligence and third parties to develop aligned plans and roadmaps.
  • Effective communication that builds trust and alignment across the business
  • Work with our internal studio (and 3rd parties as necessary) to develop content and creative for Display & Online Video channels.
  • Own and execute against an experimentation roadmap (inc. creative testing) that builds a generalisable and shareable knowledge base on ‘what works’ and ‘how to talk to our customers’.
  • Deliver a programme of continuous channel optimisation and report on impact & efficiency gains achieved.
  • Triage bespoke campaign briefs from local markets and use effective prioritisation, communication and execution to make change happen.
  • Evangelise customer centricity and the display & online video channels within Deliveroo. Change behaviours and ways of working such that our customers become the first and last thing people think about when planning display & online video campaigns.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience running highly automated display & online video at scale
  • Evidence of customer centric campaign design and execution
  • Strong data literacy and a highly commercial mindset
  • Management and leadership experience
  • Solid knowledge of DSPs and SSPs
  • Proven success working with DSPs such as Display & Video 360 and third party ad servers.
  • Experience negotiating deals on the private marketplace.
  • Operational knowledge of campaign set up through DCM.
  • Expert in how to build and execute upon custom audience segments.
