When you first think about Deliveroo, you probably think of getting great food to your house in less than half an hour.  Awesome right? But behind the scenes is the real story. The Role

If you love a challenge, have experience leading teams in fast paced operational environments, and have a passion for learning, Deliveroo is a great place to be. We have an opening for a Senior Training Manager on our Sales Enablement and Training team. 

Sales Enablement supports sales teams distributed across APAC and Europe. This energetic individual will lead a small global training team with primary responsibility for creating impact by designing and developing learning solutions to deliver business performance. You will lead the design, development, and maintenance of instructor-led, virtual instructor-led and eLearning training in support of existing and new opportunities. You should thrive working in a rapidly changing and growing environment. In many ways, we are starting at the ground floor with this role and it’s vital you create, drive, and execute our Training strategy. Based in London HQ, domestic and international travel is required.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Build and execute a learning facilitation strategy that helps us meet our business goals

  • Lead a team including establishing a direction for hiring, development, and retention of talent; coaching, and performance management

  • Plan the design and development of training programs including selecting the appropriate delivery methodologies and sources of content.

  • Take a data driven approach to understanding performance issues. Take action to improve the quality and effectiveness of training and coaching at your site for individual contributors as well as leaders and managers.

  • Focus on the continual process, efficiency, and quality improvement

  • Utilize performance consulting techniques to partner with the business to understand root cause before solutioning learning

  • Evaluate facilitator performance and the effectiveness of learning programs, providing recommendations for improvement for both content and delivery methods

  • Cultivate the team’s ways of working, acting as a motivational leadership role-model and having a full grasp of our learning needs and products to support those

  • Implement regular training needs analyses and ensure ongoing requirements are gathered and delivered to support the business

  • Deliver against business needs, ensuring the global design is adapted for regional delivery

  • Identify, mitigate, resolve or call out risks, issues, and dependencies that could impact the delivery of learning solutions

  • Coordinate across Marketing, Product, Technology, and Operations teams to ensure smooth rollouts of product enhancements or new products including coordination of UAT, training materials, scheduling, and communication

  • Ensure quality expectations are met

  • Be responsible for the budget for the Training team, ensuring that the team stays within plan/forecast


  • Bachelor’s degree or significant college course work, in communication, education or related field

  • 3+ years of experience in successfully managing a team and supporting their success and growth

  • Demonstrate success and experience with planning, creating, implementing and delivering training

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in Corporate Training/L&D, eLearning, Instructional Design and usage of learning management systems

  • Enthusiastic role model and thought-provoking leader

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing priorities across multiple, complex initiatives and multiple stakeholders

  • Extraordinary people skills, including organizational, facilitation, coaching, and presentation skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; polished interpersonal skills

  • Passion and integrity with a commitment to deliver extraordinary results

  • Previous experience in a global role within a matrixed organization

  • In-depth knowledge of learning theory and methodologies in the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of online, in-person, and blended learning solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully deal with change and ambiguity

  • Proven collaboration and planning skills with the ability to prioritize competing priorities

  • Professional certifications in Training, Learning & Development

  • Project/program management and organizational skills

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of eLearning development tools such as Brainshark, Learncore/Showpad etc.
