We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer who has a passion for drilling down and finding root causes in production as well as improving our infrastructure. As one of our first Site Reliability Engineers, you will work closely with all of our engineering teams to ensure both the availability and high performance our customers expect world wide. In this role, the Engineer will be working on developing and refining our monitoring and metrics to better understand our cloud’s performance and how it impacts the quality of our customer's experience.

Day in the Life

  • You will collaborate, educate and empower other teams to incorporate monitoring and alerting into the build process
  • You will build tools which encourage developers to take more ownership of their codebase
  • Bring visibility to Production Issues measuring impact and working with teams to find the root cause
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gain understanding of new features, dependencies, and technical details
  • You will learn, grow professionally, contribute to an amazing team, and play a key role in fuelling a massive change in learning and learning recognition
  • Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of Site Reliability Engineering experience
  • 3+ years of Software Engineering experience, preferably with .Net/C# 
  • Previous logging, alerting and monitoring experience
  • Previous SQL Server experience
  • Previous Docker experience
  • You are comfortable creating highly scalable systems and frameworks
  • Awareness of DevOps, SRE and Agile principles

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Degreed is a remote-first company, however our roles are open to in-office or flex work if you live in a city with a physical office location (when it is safe to return to the office). This role has the opportunity to operate 100% virtually from your home office. We primarily collaborate with our US and International colleagues through virtual meetings (Zoom), email, and Slack. In this role, you will be required to operate a laptop computer (PC or Mac available), computer software platforms, and other office productivity machinery as necessary.  Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to remain stationary for extended periods, and must be able to observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication.
