We’re hiring a Senior Model Content Designer for JP (Japan) on our UX team.

Job responsibilities

Gemini UX partners with engineering, product management, and teams across Google to create intuitive, conversational, and—most importantly, helpful—experiences that are powered by generative AI. We’re helping the next tech revolution not feel like tech at all.

  • Define content quality for Japanese users
  • Write user-facing, on tone Japanese content at scale
  • Develop scalable, Japanese-specific guidelines
  • Work with cross-functional partners in Eng, PM, Marketing, Legal to understand product needs and constraints.
  • Define and establish comprehensive content quality standards for the Gemini model, addressing factors like factual accuracy, privacy, safety, personality, tone, and style.
  • Conduct reviews and audits of model-generated content to ensure compliance with established standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop strategies for improving content quality, as well as instructions, guidelines, and standards to guide the work of reviewers, with a focus on articulating how we define high-quality content.
  • Write ideal model responses that serve as the north star for model output.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, researchers, and data scientists to define quality standards and approaches to measurement.
  • Advocate for a user-centered approach to model output, ensuring that the content the model generates meets the needs and expectations of our users.
  • Deeply understand model training methods and processes, and stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in generative AI.

What makes this job unique

As a content designer working on the quality of the Gemini model’s output, you’re not only working on a new technology for users and helping them get the best out of it, but you’re also reimagining what it means to be a content designer through your day-to-day work. You’ll work in an ambiguous and very exciting area with a lot of passionate people.

You’ll be a systems thinker with strong content strategy, conversation design, and problem-solving skills, with a particular passion for the craft of writing. You’ll have experience writing, editing, and delivering longer-form content in a fast-paced, agile environment with complex cross-org and cross-functional partnerships. You’ll have proven experience partnering with product, engineering, research, and data science to articulate and guide product strategy.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
