The role

In this specific role, the Product Manager will work closely with our research teams and products groups spanning the Google Cloud organization. 

Key responsibilities

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Build strong partnerships with teams across organizations (e.g., Research, Programs, etc) to understand top priorities and prioritise where Google DeepMind’s technology can have the greatest impact
  • Define product roadmaps by operationalizing strategy. 
  • Develop and secure buy-in for a product vision that identifies, defines, and supports the overall product narrative and direction, achieving an outcome that is greater than the sum of its parts. 
  • Assure product success, ensuring we build and deploy products boldly and responsibly.

Influence

  • Influence cross-functional collaborations to build momentum and accelerate moving work forward.
  • Proactively identify and address possible issues by guiding and mediating between the teams to find mutual solutions.
  • Influence product direction for partner teams outside of the immediate work group, to align on product direction for other related products.
  • Drive product opportunities from research to launch & landing, leading teams across functions to collectively achieve this.

 

Expertise

  • Serve as an expert for critical product related decisions across several functions for the product(s) and features.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for a product(s) or team(s) of considerable scope and complexity, demonstrating the ability to explain how the products fit into the larger strategy to audiences including internal and external leaders, as well as to non-technical partners, students, or new hires.

 

About you

Google DeepMind Product Managers achieve personal impact by making pivotal decisions and leading across multiple products or cross-functional teams to achieve broader strategic goals. They solve complex product problems by securing and managing resources, attracting and securing talent, managing across different teams, and optimizing for Google DeepMind and the team.

In this specific role, the Product Manager will work closely with our research teams and the Google Cloud team supporting multiple products and workstreams. 

 In order to set you up for success as a Product Manager at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role
  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch
  • Experience delivering products under pressing timelines and engaging a range of stakeholders

 

In addition, the following would be an advantage: 

  • Expertise in Machine Learning / ML Products
  • Experience in Generative AI
  • Masters or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. 
  • Understanding of the cloud services market and users

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $142,000 - $219,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
