⭐ About the team:
Made up of six subteams (Dashboard, Engine, Infrastructure, Integrations, Threat Research & Security), the DataDome tech team is spread across Europe and the US. We handle over 2 000 billion events per day giving responses within 3ms (99p). We are present in more than 29 data centers around the world, deployed using Docker.
We deploy on AWS, Scaleway and GCP, using Docker, Ansible and Terraform, and monitor with Grafana and Prometheus. We handle an average of 8 billion requests per day and manage more than 300 TB of data per month.
When it comes to our stack, we run real-time detection layer in Java, low latency Stream Engine running on Flink in Scala, ElasticSearch for storage, Kafka for communication between layers, HAProxy for load balancing, Symfony & Angular for our dashboards. While previous experience in cyber is not a must, we'll pair you with mentors who will help you bridge the gaps. As #growth is part of our DNA, we’ll give you the resources and support you need to develop mastery.
We’re looking for a seasoned Data Scientist to join the Threat Research Team. He will contribute to the ML roadmap definition and implementation, as well as be focused on finding new innovative ways to use ML technologies inside DataDome solutions.
You will be more specifically in charge of:
- Contributing and challenging ML topics at DataDome in the field for fraud detection
- Pushing ML-based detection improvements in production with the help of other technical team
- Solving high business-impact problem using your Data Science skills, acting like a problem solver for product teams, and delivering state of the art research to production.
- Shaping data products in alignment with product strategy
- Leading efforts in Data Science intelligence, being aware of the latest ML-related technologies and evolution of the research in the fraud detection domain
- Providing leadership in data science methodologies, ensuring best practice and processes are being carried out in all of the projects
- Mentoring more junior team members
- Representing DataDome expertise in the field at internal and external conferences and customer events
👤 It would be great if you had :
- At least 7+ years of experience in a Data Scientist role
- Strong programming skills in python
- Strong computer science background
- Good knowledge of ML algorithms
- Ability to learn and implement new ML approaches (from papers, blogs, etc.)
- Good communication and writing skills (mainly in English)
- Autonomy, rigor, and passion for ML!
Bonus points:
- Good understanding of how the web works: browser vs server, GET/POST requests, how a login works.
- Has already done a simple bots/crawler or could discuss main automation techniques: HTTP library, headless browser, real browser.
- Has knowledge of Scala or Java
- Has experience in Graph Neural Networks and/or ML online training.
- GCP and VertexAI knowledge or certification
What type of project should you expect?
Fighting bots and detection fraud is an ever evolving challenge. For example, you could implement a state of the art Graphical Neural Network to enable a Weak Supervision approach in our ML pipelines.
Or, you could design an IP scoring ML pipeline to flag residential proxies at scale and in real-time.
What are the next steps?
- You x Talent Acquisition Manager : first interview and cultural fit
- You x Engineering Manager : technical and cultural fit + Take-home technical challenge
- You x Team: Presentation and review of your "technical proposal" with the team
- You x Member of the leadership team - Discussion about DataDome vision and "raison d'être"!
- Now you really met everyone! Welcome to DataDome :)
