Junior Commercial Project Manager
DB E.C.O. North America (with “E.C.O.” representing “Engineering, Consulting and Operations") offers specialized rail and transit consultancy services to public agencies, passenger and freight railroads. Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Partner with Bid Managers and Commercial Project Managers in support of project proposal development.
- Partner with Project Management in commercial/financial support of the projects.
- Review project contracts with a clear understanding of all contract terms and conditions, project types, scope of work, regulatory requirements, and invoicing requirements. Form risk assessments and risk management approach as they relate to commercial terms.
- Verify subcontractor agreements are issued and created in accordance with the terms stipulated in the master contract.
- Review, validate, and reconcile subcontractor monthly timesheets, expenses, and invoices.
- Review project insurance requirements, obtain insurance certificates, track and manage compliance and renewals.
- Ensure the accuracy of cost, pricing calculations, and project budgets.
- Accurately set up projects and job cost reporting structure within DB E.C.O. North America systems utilizing GAAP guidelines and associated terms and conditions of the specific contracts.
- Review and analyze actual vs planned financial performance and disseminate that information to appropriate managers and team members.
- Lead project cost and expense reconciliations.
- Actively manage project-specific items (unbilled, backlog, revenue, open AR, etc.).
- Prepare monthly project billings and reports.
- Assist Commercial Project Managers and Finance with month end closing tasks.
- Support management of Business Administration and Corporate information data and processes
- Manage State and Cognizant Agency prequalifications and registrations.
- Manage timely completion of multiple and recurring assignments.
- Other general accounting, finance and company structure tasks including administrative support for internal projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required in Accounting, Finance or Business Management.
- 2-5 years of related experience.
- Financial report generation and management presentation skills required.
- Excellent time management skills, ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet critical deadlines.
- Ability to work autonomously and address challenges/issues with solutions provider mindset.
- Previous experience working with government projects highly desired.
- Experience working with transit agencies strongly desired.
- General experience with project management lifecycles is highly desired.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft SharePoint required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be self-motivated, excellent organizational skills, and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions and Travel:
You may work from your home office and/or a well-lighted, heated and air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation. Minimal overnight travel by land and air.
Physical Requirements, with or without a reasonable accommodation:

- Ability to speak on the telephone for a total of up to 3 hours per day
- Ability to sit for up to 3 hours without breaks at meetings

We offer an annual gross salary between $70,000 and $80,000 CAD for full-time employment, depending on professional qualifications and experience.
