As the Senior Director of Schools (internally titled Senior Director, National School Network), you will oversee and hold ultimate accountability for the success of all preschools across Bezos Academy’s multi-state network. We currently have 25 operating schools and plan to open more than 15 schools in the next two years. You will manage our team of regional school leaders across the country, represent Bezos Academy externally, and directly oversee our growing school network. You will develop a team of leaders and implement systems and strategies to deliver high quality, tuition-free, Montessori-inspired early childhood learning opportunities to children and families in under-resourced communities.
In this role, you will implement our educational approach with an emphasis on being child-centered, inclusive, and joyful. You will collaborate with colleagues focused on staff development to ensure effective management, coaching, and mentorship of Bezos Academy school leaders in ways that drive meaningful outcomes for children.
You will bring deep experience in education systems and school leadership, quality and continuous school improvement, organizational management and supervision, and age-appropriate curricular implementation. In this role, you will also draw heavily on your personal commitment to equitable outcomes for all students and families. You share our passion for expanding access to exceptional early childhood education, shaping our organization’s approach to engaging with the communities we serve as we increase our footprint in multiple states. This position reports directly to the Chief Education Officer and is part of the Education Leadership Team.

- Relocation support is available for those able to move to Seattle, Washington.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, exempt (salaried) position.
- The full salary range for this position, across eligible locations in Arizona, Washington, and Texas, is $201,000 - $395,000 per year. The upper portion of the salary range is typically reserved for employees who have been in the role for multiple years and have demonstrated strong performance over time. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience; during the interview process, candidates will learn the starting salary range applicable for their location.
- This role includes 15 paid days of vacation, 4 days of paid personal time off, 7 paid days of sick (care) time, 9 paid holidays, 5 paid days off for an organization-wide winter break, and additional time off if required by applicable law. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree
- Twelve or more years of relevant experience with at least eight years of people management experience, including significant experience managing school leaders across multiple school sites or a multi-functional, layered team in a preK-12 school network or district
- Track record of achieving outcomes that matter for children as a school leader and as a leader of other school leaders district/network administrator
- Experience using data to drive systemic improvement
- Experience leading teams across lines of difference and strong demonstrated personal commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness
- Ability to travel to schools up to 30% of time
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced degree in a relevant field (i.e., educational leadership, policy, etc.)
- Deep experience in early childhood education, including knowledge of curriculum, child development, licensing, and school regulations
- Knowledge of Montessori principles and approach
- Track record of implementing strong family engagement and inclusive practices
