As the Senior Security Manager at Bezos Academy, you will support a national cross-functional security strategy and security program for our rapidly growing network of tuition-free, Montessori-inspired preschools in under-resourced areas. To strengthen our organization’s initiatives and ongoing programs across strategic, operational, and tactical domains, you will travel nationally and team up with schools, local communities, and local agencies (such as law enforcement), while aligning your priorities to those of our education and national operations leaders. You will research and implement safety and security best practices, services, and training to protect our students, staff, and facilities at every site.
You are a mission-driven professional who is eager to roll-up your sleeves, dig in, build processes, drive initiatives, promote improvements, and write policies and standards. You regularly update leadership on progress and outcomes. You have a track record of collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to support assumptions, generate recommendations, and drive action. You have also successfully managed third-party vendor relationships to ensure compliance and exceptionally high standards of service, and you are familiar with both incident reporting and investigations. You are motivated and energized by the complexity, scope, and hands-on nature of a fast-growing startup environment.
Your top priority will be to ensure all Bezos Academy sites are equipped to operate safely by leading overall security initiatives, training schedules, audits, and communications with staff and leaders alike. You will also continuously review our emergency preparedness plans and potential risk factors to uphold the highest standards for both students and employees so we can expand nationally.
