We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer, with a passion for technology and how it can make ‘magic’ happen. The right candidate will be passionate about what they do and will have demonstrable projects achieved outside of their work environment in addition to formal work experience that demonstrates out the box thinking to problem solving, an ability to achieve tough targets, and a genuine passion about product development. We will be looking for someone who will add something to the team – be that new ideas, experience, or just plain mojo. CentraStage is not a job but a team of very passionate individuals that are doing stuff that makes a difference. A cultural fit will be very important.
A Look Inside the Job:
Since the role will involve working with all aspects of the platform, full stack experience would be ideal, especially working with distributed systems and the complexities that can be introduced. You will work predominantly with backend services hooked together using REST, Pub/Sub, and Queuing. Our production systems all run on Linux using Ubuntu on AWS, and we encourage Developers to get their hands dirty with troubleshooting, so prior Linux experience will be useful when a customer runs into problems with “The New Feature” you’ve been working on. Confluence for general documentation, BitBucket (Git) for source control and code reviews (Yes, we’ll expect you to review and be reviewed!), and Bamboo for CI. You don't need to have used them before though, as they're pretty easy to get started with. Finally, while most of us work on Macs and use IntelliJ IDEA as our IDE’s, neither of those are required and we’re happy to kit out Developers with whatever makes them most productive.
You will work with the following technologies, so experience here would be desirable though not required, at least not across the board:
- F# experience is a must
- Experience with Desktop, Web (Fable), making performance tweaks.
- Previous contribution to open-source software
- Work related blog or GitHub account details
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any relevant qualification/experience
- Being highly motivated and capable of functioning in fast-paced environment
At Datto, we believe our employees are our greatest asset and offer all full-time employees a wide-ranging benefits package, including:
- Private medical insurance
- Flexible paid time off policy
- Fitness reimbursement
- Charity match program
- Education reimbursement
- And more!
