You will report to the Manager of Infrastructure Operations.

A Look Inside the Job:

  • Act as a local point of contact between Datto and Data Center staff
  • Conduct daily inspections of all Datto related Data Center infrastructure equipment
  • Maintain Datto assigned Data Center storage cage area
  • Perform drive swaps on storage servers and associated technical equipment
  • Maintain internal reference rack schedule to reflect the existing deployment
  • Process HDD RMA shipments and coordinate failed drive shredding
  • Replace failed PSU and RAM components or other server parts
  • Maintain inventory record, including shipping supplies and device stock, and supply of server related spare components
  • Coordinate ordering of spares and components
  • Lifting of equipment required up to and over 50 lbs. Use manual and electric pallet jack when needed
  • Server node racking/unracking and chassis swaps. Server lifts can be utilized where applicable
  • Server backplane and network component replacements
  • Cable runs and connections between nodes, racks, networking gear, and associated equipment
  • Provide oversight of contractors and service providers in the Datto related areas
  • Respond to all work requests and provide a quality resolution
  • Perform preventive maintenance on hardware as per procedures
  • Coordinate with HQ and local Datto teams to fulfill these tasks and to minimize any downtime related to technical work
  • Coordinate pickups and deliveries with Data Center, local shipping and courier services
  • Use computer hardware and software to create labels and identify equipment
  • Receive and inspect incoming raw materials
  • As a member of an on-call rotation provide emergency response. Shift, evening and weekend work may be required

  • General working knowledge of infrastructure technologies
  • Familiar with general ticket tracking procedures
  • General Computer hardware configuration, troubleshooting, and repair knowledge
  • Knowledge of Ethernet network topology to help troubleshoot network issues
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure industry best practices
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree related to Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • Shipping logistics and/or previous data center experience
  • Military training or technical certifications desired

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Ubuntu/Debian Linux
  • Experience with HP 5900 or 2500 series switch units
  • CompTIA Linux+, Network+ or equivalent
