About the Role
As an Account Executive at DataCamp, you will be responsible for closing new business and the majority of your time will be spent on the hundreds of inbound leads we receive every month. Reporting to the Chief Sales Officer, you will demo our product to potential customers, prepare customized proposals, document all your work in our CRM system, and be the face of DataCamp to new prospective clients.
As an Account Executive you will attend multiple trade shows per year and meet face to face with top prospects as needed. You will also solicit feedback from prospects on what tools they are currently using, what training goals they have, and what new courses and projects they would be looking for from DataCamp.
The data science field is exploding so you will have a massive territory and there will be no cold-calling as DataCamp receives so many inbound leads and has close to 3 million registered users to reach out to. You will also receive a significant amount of sales training from our Chief Sales Officer who has successfully managed sales teams for 15+ years.
What we’re looking for:
Superior written and verbal communication skills; you can hold your own in meetings with C-suite representatives from prospective partners
Creative problem solving abilities
Has strong interpersonal skills and enjoys talking to new business prospects
Is comfortable presenting in person and over the phone
Is organized, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working in a quickly changing environment
Has 2+ years of sales experience and consistently exceeds sales goals
It’s a plus if:
You have some SaaS experience
You have familiarity with the data science field and typical data science workflows
Some of your key metrics will be:
Number of deals closed
Average deal size
Response time on in-bound leads
Number of demos completed
Percent of revenue goal
