Dark Wolf Solutions is seeking a skilled and experienced AWS Cloud/DevOps Engineer to join our team, providing critical support to a mission-critical application hosted on the DoD CloudOne Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS). This role requires expertise in cloud architecture, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization, as well as a strong understanding of Agile software development principles. The successful candidate will leverage AWS-native services and industry best practices to sustain, enhance, and optimize four distinct environments hosted in CloudOne. This role will be supported at a hybrid capacity based out of our Herndon, VA office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining AWS-based solutions for scalability, availability, and performance.
- Managing and optimizing existing cloud environments hosted within the DoD CloudOne PaaS.
- Applying AWS-native services and architectures to support development and sustainment.
- Building, maintaining, and optimizing Jenkins CI/CD pipelines to ensure streamlined software integration and deployment.
- Integrating automated testing and monitoring within pipelines to ensure reliability and quality.
- Enhancing build, deployment, and release processes for consistent delivery.
- Designing and managing Docker-based containerization strategies to support application modularity and portability.
- Ensuring security, scalability, and reliability of containerized solutions.
- Working closely with cross-functional Agile teams to ensure alignment with software development and deployment best practices.
- Continuously monitoring and adapting processes to maximize team efficiency in Agile workflows.
- Providing support and enhancements across four environments hosted in CloudOne.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to manage environment configuration, security, and sustainment needs.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional experience in AWS architecture and engineering
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)
- Extensive knowledge of Docker containers and containerization technologies
- Deep understanding of AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation, etc.) and best practices for cloud deployment
- Proficiency in CI/CD design, implementation, and management using Jenkins
- Expertise in containerized environments, including troubleshooting and optimization
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps principles
- Strong familiarity with DoD CloudOne PaaS infrastructure and guidelines
- Ability to manage multi-environment hosting platforms securely and efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or MS in Engineering or equivalent
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer)
- Prior experience working in a DoD or similarly regulated cloud environment
- Familiarity with automated monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, etc.) and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) frameworks like Terraform
This position is located in Herndon, VA. The salary range is estimated to be between $150,000.00 - $200,000.00, commensurate on experience and technical interview.
