Position Overview

Daily Harvest seeks a Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to join our growing QA team to help build the platform that enables us to take care of food. The Engineering team focuses on architecting, developing, and delivering highly scalable and innovative software that meets the needs of the Daily Harvest business and our customers. As a member of our engineering organization, you’ll be part of a team that ensures the quality of our software platform. You’ll work with a team of QA engineers to continue building upon our comprehensive automated testing suites. You’ll be joining a team of talented and highly motivated engineers who enjoy working together.


What you’ll do:

  • Design automated test cases, test scripts, and validation processes based on the system requirements and functional specifications for the integrated environments
  • Collaborate on detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured automation test plans and test cases
  • Contribute to our existing Python-based Selenium, API, and mobile Detox automated test suites
  • Ensure that automated test coverage is prioritized for the most critical features of the system
  • Work with QA Engineers and QA management to continuously refine the testing strategy and QA processes
  • Select and implement tools and frameworks that further the QA strategy, with an emphasis on QA automation
  • Help contribute to the automation roadmap and improve testing efficiency
  • Partner with Engineering to define quality goals. Implement measurements to ensure goals are met
  • Evangelize automation to the larger engineering organization and expand the number of
  • contributors to our automation suites
  • Liaise with internal teams to identify software system requirements
  • Document automated test failures and quickly route them to the appropriate parties
  • Reproduce, triage, and manage incoming bug reports

Who you are:

  • BS or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience using tools such as Selenium for testing web-based applications using a modern programming language, preferably Python
  • 5+ years of industry experience in Quality Assurance automation
  • Experience in a software QA organization with a focus on automated testing in a variety of domains (distributed software hosted on a public cloud, business workflows, services and APIs, databases)
  • Familiarity with Python unit test frameworks (e.g. pytest)
  • Experience using automation tools for testing mobile applications using a modern programming language, preferably Javascript
  • Experience with GUI independent API testing (REST, SOAP, etc.)
  • Experience with any of the following: Postman, Insomnia, JMeter, or similar tools
  • Knowledge of working with and testing databases and SQL
  • Experience with a variety of different testing techniques such as UI Testing, Automated Testing, Manual Testing, Test Driven Development Strategies, etc.
  • Experience building and maintaining cross-functional automation frameworks
  • Experience with object-oriented programming concepts
  • Experience working with CI/CD
  • Experience with Agile software development and project management software
  • Dedication to quality with a positive, collaborative attitude and approach to testing
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, low-structure, constantly changing atmosphere and prioritizing work appropriately
  • Team player, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong QA project leadership experience
  • Working knowledge of Windows and macOS, all major web browsers, Linux, and iOS and Android mobile devices is a plus
  • Bonus if you have experience in other modern software development languages such as JavaScript, Ruby, etc.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks for JavaScript and Python is preferred
  • Plus if you have previous e-commerce experience 
  • Demonstrated ability to learn complex business processes in order to better inform test development and execution systems is a bonus
