About the Role

As the Vice President of Engineering at CytoTronics, you will play a critical role in leading our engineering team to develop innovative solutions that drive the company's mission forward. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of engineering, from product development to manufacturing processes.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects and the delivery of high-quality products to our customers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving engineering excellence in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This role will report to the CEO and will be based at our office in South Boston, MA.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from conceptualization to commercialization, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality, market-leading products.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Manage resources effectively to optimize productivity, minimize costs, and meet project deadlines.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends and drive continuous innovation in engineering processes and methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards and maintain high standards for quality and safety in all engineering activities.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop top engineering talent, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering leadership roles, preferably in the biotechnology or life sciences tools industry.
  • Small company or start-up experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams and delivering complex hardware/analytical projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong technical background in areas such as biomedical engineering, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with experience building teams.
  • Deep understanding of product development processes, quality management systems, and regulatory requirements (i.e. familiarity with UL, CE, ISO)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to rapidly evolving priorities and challenges.
